Abstract

Title compds. are prepd. by heating a mixture of terephthalic acid, hexamethylenediamine (HMD) and nonamethylenediamine (NMD) or their functional derivatives, where the molar ratio HMD:NMD = 25:75-45:55. preferably 35:65. The copolyamides combine relatively low melt viscosity at melt-spinning temps. with relatively high glass transition temp. and good crystallisation properties. The melting point is about 300 degrees C or lower.
