Description
Modular storage box
The invention is in the field of an improved construction for storing and other functional- ity, wherein amongst other cycles and the like can be stored in a safe manner. The modular stor- age box is also aesthetically attractive, eco-friendly, durable and safe. It is versatile and user- friendly in that it can be operated by any user with ease. It is also consider to provide added functionality to an urban environment.
The present invention relates to an improved bicycle locker. Parking of bicycles and the like in cities has become more and more an issue. Especially in countries with a large part of the population moving by bicycle, such as China, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, congestion of cities may become an issue. For instance, in Amsterdam research on parking of bicycles in public spacing, within the so-called A10 ring, has been performed. About 350,000 bicycles were parked, including E-bikes, scooters, and the like. About half of these (150,000) were parked out- side of available spacing thereto, such as racks. This results in public spaces being accessible in- sufficiently. In addition to this “daily” use it 1s noted that for instance in Amsterdam 82.000 bi- cycles per year are released from there locks by city officials, consuming valuable time and un- necessary occupied space.
The research further showed that cycling congestion is larger than vehicular congestion, 67% of all trips are made by bicycles (a remainder largely by automobiles), and about 72,000 bi- cycle trips were recorded daily between 08:00 — (09:00, i.e. during rush hours.
Some documents recite bicycle lockers and the like. For instance US 2010/204823 Al re- cites a system, device and method for providing public, high-density bicycle storage and protec- tion from elements and theft. Sais system includes overhead conveyors from which bicycles are hung in a near side/far side arrangement where handlebars of only every other bicycle are aligned. Bicycles are rolled into a loading station on their back wheels by user and secured, from the front wheel, to a hook that is removably coupled to a load hoist. Access to loading station is controlled by an access control panel. Load hoist lifts the hook to place the bicycle in a hanging position. Robotic arm of a robotic elevator grasps, retracts and lowers (or raises) the bicycle into a multilevel storage area and onto overhead conveyors. Users may be bike-share users or storage users who store the particular bicycle they own. KR 2008 0083230 A recites a bicycle and de- pository rental system to distribute bicycle depositories in multiple areas and manage the deposi- tories through a central control center to rent bicycles efficiently, thereby activating bicycle rental service. A bicycle and deposit rental system includes a main server(51), a user com- puter(60), and a local server. The main server manages rental information on bicycles(1) having
RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tags attached thereto and deposit boxes of bicycle deposi- tories(10) having RFID readers. The user computer accesses the main server, signs in the main server, acquires ID and a password and reserves a bicycle or a deposit box. The local server con- trols and monitors the bicycles and the bicycle depositories and includes a touch screen through which a user inputs the ID and password to request the main server to rent the bicycle or the de- posit box. CN 109 518 995 A recites an intelligent courier station system and a method for achieving intelligent travel. The intelligent courier station system includes at least one travel tool, at least one modular commercial facility and a management control system, wherein the dif- ferent modular commercial facilities are used for providing different self-service convenience services, wherein the at least one modular commercial facility and the at least one travel tool are disposed in a preset area of a public place; and the management control system is in communica- tion connection with the at least one travel tool and the at least one modular commercial facility, and is used for controlling the operation of the at least one travel tool and the at least one modu- lar commercial facility. By the setting of the travel tools at intelligent courier stations, the travel efficiency can be improved for people, the public dispatch pressure is reduced, the city image is improved, and people are guided to perform environment-friendly travel; the modular commer- cial facility is set to improve the quality of the convenience service, and, in addition, the travel tools can undergo centralized storage and management to reduce security risks. GB 2 481 978 A recites a cycle storage unit comprising a plurality of individual cycle storage lockers. Each locker comprises a lockable access door, a lock and a sensor which indicates the presence or ab- sence of a cycle in the locker. A user interface is provided for receiving identification data from the user. A control system, which is in communication with each sensor and to each lock in the unit, unlocks a specific locker for deposit or retrieval of a cycle dependent on the identification data received by the user interface and the status of the sensor in that locker. The invention also relates to a cycle storage locker having a sensor for continuously detecting the presence of a cy- cle placed in the locker, and to a method of controlling a cycle storage unit.
The present invention therefore relates to an improved bicycle locker, which overcome one or more of the above disadvantages, without jeopardizing functionality and advantages.
The present invention relates in a first aspect to an improved modular ecological storage box, i.e. storage stall, comprising an optically transparent box (2), with a height of 120-240 cm, a width of 30-500 cm, a depth of 150-200 cm, and a wall thickness of 2-7 mm, the box comprising at least one sub-section, at least one door (3) for entering the box, typically one door per sub-section, a lock (9) for locking and unlocking the at least one door, a transceiver (4), such as an RF-transceiver, a controller (5) in connection with the transceiver, such as for locking and unlocking the door, a timer (10), such as for registering stall time and user identification, loaded on the controller software for communication with an external device, for tracking a sta- tus of the storage stall, and for providing executable instructions to the storage stall, and charac- terized in at least one of a solar panel, in particular a printed sola panel, an air cleaning device comprising at least one air inlet and at least one air outlet, an air filter, a hydroculture or a hydro- ponics for growing plants, a horizontal gardening plateau for growing plants, the plants adapted to photo-synthesize carbon dioxide, an electrical E-bike charger, a climate controller, a heater, a cooler, a plant nutrition supply including a nutrient storage, a temperature sensor, a relative hu- midity sensor, a rain sensor, a water container, typically a rain-water container, a holder for a bi- cycle, in particular an in height adaptable holder, a light source, a pH-controller, and a pH-sen- sor. The present ecological storage box contributes to well-being of a city, in terms of an im- proved air quality, a reduction of air-born particle, such as dust, use of locally generated energy, provides agricultural benefits in terms of crops and plants, etc. In view of plant growth typically a light source, such as a dedicated light source, e.g. a LED, more in particular with specific wavelength suited for plant growth, is added. It relates to a clever combination of functionality and applications, such as a bicycle storage, otherwise claiming space in a city. Though the term “bicycle” is used, it is to be understood that further, typically two-wheeled vehicles, such as E- bikes, scooters, E-scooters, and the like are comprised with this term. A side issue, which is also resolved partly by the present invention is urban heat, which is caused by the uncontrolled heat- ing of man-made surfaces in urban areas. This effect is exacerbated by production of heat from traffic and human activity in addition to the lack of cooling due to a scarcity of vegetation and open water. Also urban water run-off, over surfaces such as roads, directly into sewers, is a prob- lem. It is primarily caused by man-made surfaces impervious to natural water run-off following storms, rain water mixed with pollutants and heavy metals overwhelms water retention schemes and pollutes the surrounding soil and water sources. An further effect is that particulate matter (PM) and pollutants can be reduced by at least 50%, particulate matter, and typically almost fully. The present storage box is in the form of a storage stall.
Thereby the present invention provides a solution to one or more of the above-mentioned problems.
Advantages of the present invention are detailed throughout the description.
