Description

Field of Invention
The field of the invention relates to a light device for light decoration and a cover for light decoration of a light device.
Background
A light device for for light decoration for outside areas is commonly known. Said light device comprises an electrical cable, a plurality of lamp sockets mounted onto the electrical cable. Each lamp socket may hold an electrical lamp, such as an electrical bulb, for lightning the respective lamp.
In a specific example, each lamp socket comprises two protruding electrical connections, which can be electrically connected to the respective positive wire and negative electrical wire inside an electrical cable by piercing the two electrical connections through an outer isolating layer of the electrical cable. In this way, a lamp socket may be selectively mounted at a position along the flat electrical cable and electrically connected to the flat electrical cable at the selected position. A mounting part may be attached to the lamp socket at the other side of the electrical cable to maintain the lamp socket fixed onto the electrical cable. As such, the electrical cable extends from two sides of each lamp socket.
Each of the lamp sockets may hold a cover, which is screwed onto an intermediate ring of the lamp socket. The cover may partially or completely accommodate the lamp socket including the lamp bulb. In examples, the cover may have a selected shape as decoration of the electrical bulb of the light device.
The light device including the known covers have the disadvantage that a mounting of a cover onto each of the plurality of lamp sockets is time consuming. Moreover, the mounting of the covers is only possible in case each lamp socket has an intermediate ring, which is configured to hold the cover, when the cover is screwed onto the intermediate ring of the lamp socket.
Moreover, when a lamp bulb needs to be replaced, first the cover needs to be unscrewed from the lamp socket, before the lamp bulb is accessible to be replaced.
Therefore, a desire exists to provide a light device for light decoration having an electrical cable and a plurality of lamp sockets mounted onto the electrical cable, wherein a cover for light decoration can easily be applied and/or removed.
Summary
According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a light device for light decoration comprising an electrical cable, at least one lamp socket mounted onto the electrical cable, each lamp socket optionally holding an electrical lamp, the electrical cable extending from two sides of each lamp socket, and a cover for accommodating the mounted lamp socket, said cover comprising a first part and a second part, said cover being mounted onto the electrical cable at both sides of the lamp socket in an assembled state of the cover, wherein the first part is fastened to the second part, and wherein the first part and the second part cooperatively define a first opening and a second opening, each of the first opening and the second opening being arranged at an interface between the first part and the second part and having a shape configured for mounting the cover onto the electrical cable.
The cover is mounted onto the electrical cable at both sides of the lamp socket in an assembled state of the cover. The cover comprises a first part and a second part. In the assembled state of the cover, the first part and the second part define two openings. The attributes of the two openings, such as position, size and shape, are used to mount the cover onto the electrical cable at both sides of the lamp socket. In the assembled state the cover accommodates the mounted lamp socket. The cover including its parts supports an easy application and/or removal of the cover onto the electrical cable of the light device. In this way, a mounting or dismounting of a number of covers at a respective position of a lamp socket along the electrical cable is easily supported. A shape, size and/or decoration of the cover may be suitably selected to adjust a light decoration provided by the cover.
Preferably, the cover accommodates the mounted lamp socket and at least partly an electrical lamp, which is held by the lamp socket. In this way, the light which is generated by the electrical lamp may shine onto the cover and/or through the cover. A shape and size of the cover may be suitably selected to accommodate at least partly the electrical lamp.
The advantages of the invention become especially apparent, when the light of the electrical lamp is used to illuminate a decoration. Therefore, the cover preferably is transparent or semi-transparent to the light generated by the electrical lamp. Additionally, the cover may comprise an image on its inner and/or outer surface. Said image may represent any presentation of information, such as image information usable for marketing purposes.
In an exemplary embodiment, the first opening is arranged at a first side of the lamp socket and the second opening is arranged at a second side of the lamp socket in the assembled state. In this way, the position of the cover along the electrical cable is such, that the cover may easily accommodate the lamp socket. Preferably, the electrical cable extends substantially linear along the lamp socket and the first side is arranged substantially opposite to the second side of the lamp socket. Alternatively, the first side and the second side are arranged with respect to the lamp socket at an angle of less than 180 degrees with respect to one another. In this example, a longitudinal direction of the electrical cable is arranged at said angle of less than 180 degrees at the location of the lamp socket. The longitudinal direction of the electrical cable is defined as a direction along a length of the electrical cable.
In an exemplary embodiment, the first part and the second part cooperatively accommodate the mounted lamp socket. In this embodiment, the first part and the second part are cooperatively shaped to accommodate the mounted lamp socket.
In an exemplary embodiment, each of the first part and the second part substantially form a half of the cover. This embodiment supports a balanced mounting of the cover onto the electrical cable. The advantages of the present invention become more apparent in case the first part and the second part have a substantially same weight.
In an exemplary embodiment, the first part and the second part are substantially symmetrical to one another. The advantages of the present invention become more apparent in case the first part and the second part have substantially the same shape. This resemblance in shape supports an easy manufacturing of the first part and the second part. In a particular example, the first part and the second part are substantially mirror symmetrical to one another.
In an exemplary embodiment, the interface between the first part and the second part is arranged along a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the electrical cable. The direction of the interface enhances an easy mounting of the first part and the second part of the cover onto the electrical cable including a step of an easy assembling of the first part to the second part. In a particular embodiment, the interface between the first part and the second part is arranged along a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the electrical cable at the location of the first opening and the second opening.
Additionally, the interface between the first part and the second part may extend between the first opening and the second opening at an upper side of the lamp socket. In this way, the first part and the second part may cooperatively cover the lamp socket at the upper side of the lamp socket. As such, the lamp socket is at the upper side protected against rain. The upper side is hereby defined as the side opposite to a position of an electrical lamp held by the lamp socket.
In an exemplary embodiment, the interface is arranged substantially parallel to a fitting direction of the lamp socket. The fitting direction is defined as a direction for connecting an electrical lamp to the lamp socket. In a particular embodiment, the interface is arranged substantially parallel to a fitting direction of the lamp socket at the location of the first opening and the second opening. The direction of the interface at the location of the first opening and the second opening supports an easy manual mounting of the first part and the second part onto the electrical cable while assembling the first part and the second part.
In an exemplary embodiment, each of the first opening and the second opening has a shape which is substantially conformal to a cross section of the electrical cable. The shape of each of the first opening and the second opening enhances an easy mounting of the first part and the second part of the cover onto the electrical cable. Additionally, the shape of each of the first opening and the second opening support a reliable fixing of the cover onto the electrical cable. As such, the cover may remain substantially fixed to the electrical cable, even when the electrical cable is moved by wind or other disturbances. Substantially conformal is defined as having a shape which is suitable for clamping the cover onto the electrical cable.
In an example, the shape of each of the first opening and the second opening is selected such that the respective opening clamps the electrical cable completely along the circumference of the electrical cable, hi another example, the shape of each of the first opening and the second opening is selected such that the respective opening clamps the electrical cable along at least a part of the circumference of the electrical cable. In a particular example, the shape of each of the first opening and the second opening is selected such that the respective opening clamps the electrical cable along a major part of the circumference of the electrical cable.
In exemplary embodiments, the electrical cable has a substantially circular diameter. In that case, the shape of each of the first opening and the second opening is preferably at least partly circular and each of the first opening and the second opening have a size for clamping the electrical cable.
