Abstract

The invention relates to log splitter for splitting logs, comprising: - a frame; - splitting means which are moveable with respect to the frame; and - a pair of arms extending from the frame, separated from each other in a first direction, wherein the arms are pivotable with respect to the frame about respective pivot points between a first, releasing position in which an angle between the arms is relatively large, and a second, embracing position in which the angle between the arms is relatively small, wherein the free end of at least one of the arms is moveable with respect to the opposing end of said arm near its respective pivot point in a plane substantially perpendicular to the splitting direction, between a first, relatively sharp position, in which the free end extends at a relatively small angle from the opposing end, and a second, relatively obtuse position, in which the free end extends at a relatively large angle from the opposing end.
