The invention relates to a wall hanger for hanging an object, such as for instance a picture, mirror or the like, on a wall. The invention relates to a wall hanger for hanging an object, such as for instance a picture, mirror or the like, on a wall.

Many different wall hangers exist, among which for instance fasteners such as nails, screws and the like. Many different wall hangers exist, among which for instance fasteners such as nails, screws and the like.

However, such wall hangers are often not suitable and/or reliable when the wall is a hollow wall, in particular when the hollow wall comprises a relatively weak drywall or wallboard panel, such as a gypsum panel, mounted in front of another wall element, such as masonry wall. In such cases, it may be hard to properly install the wall hanger, especially when there is no convenient wood stud or the like behind the wallboard panel at the location where the wall hanger is desired. However, such wall hangers are often not suitable and / or reliable when the wall is a hollow wall, in particular when the hollow wall comprises a relatively weak drywall or wallboard panel, such as a gypsum panel, mounted in front or another wall element, such as masonry wall. In such cases, it may be hard to properly install the wall hanger, especially when there is no convenient wood stud or the like behind the wallboard panel at the location where the wall hanger is desired.

Thereto, special drywall anchors and wall hangers have been proposed, such as toggle bolts, plastic toggle anchors, and so-called molly bolts. However, mounting such a drywall anchor or wall hanger usually requires suitable tools and/or skills, which can make the installation difficult, time-consuming, and/or error prone. Another disadvantage of known drywall anchors and wall hangers lies in that they usually require a lot of space between the wallboard panel and the wall element finished by said wallboard panel in order to allow an anchoring part of said drywall anchor or wall hanger to be properly placed into the wall.Thereto, special drywall anchors and wall hangers have been proposed, such as toggle bolts, plastic toggle anchors, and so-called molly bolts. It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an alternative wall hanger. In particular, it can be an object of the present disclosure to provide a wall hanger, wherein at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art wall hangers is counteracted. More in particular, the present disclosure may aim to provide a wall hanger, wherein at least one of the disadvantages mentioned above is counteracted. In embodiments, the present disclosure aims at providing a wall hanger that on the one hand can be mounted relatively well to a hollow wall having a relatively narrow space between its wallboard panel and a second wall element covered by said wallboard panel, while it can on the other hand be installed in a relatively simple, relatively swift, and/or relatively error insensitive manner, preferably without requiring special tools and/or skills. It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an alternative wall hanger. Thereto, the invention provides for a wall hanger for hanging an object on a wall, comprising an elongate anchor part for anchoring the wall hanger to the wall, said anchor part including a substantially C-shaped hook portion having a pointed distal end for anchoring at the rear side of a wallboard panel of the wall, wherein a proximal end of the hook portion merges into a second portion of the anchor part, said second portion interconnecting the substantially C-shaped hook portion with a connector part for holding the object to be hung to the wall hanger, wherein said anchor part has a height not being greater than 1.5 times its depth.Thereto, the invention provides for a wall hanger for hanging an object on a wall, including an elongate anchor part for anchoring the wall hanger for the wall, said anchor part including a substantial C-shaped hook portion having a pointed distal end for anchoring at the rear side of a wallboard panel of the wall, a proximal end of the hook part merges into a second part of the anchor part, said second part interconnecting the substantial C-shaped hook part with a connector part for holding the object to be hung to the wall hanger, said anchor part has a height not being greater than 1.5 times its depth.

Once the distal end region of the substantially C-shaped hook portion of the anchor part has been stuck through a through hole through a wallboard panel of a wall, the pointed distal end of said substantially Cshaped hook portion will curl back to the wallboard, i.e. to the rear side of said wallboard due to the curved shape of the substantially C-shaped hook portion, as a result of which the pointed distal end, which is for anchoring the wall hanger at the rear side of the wallboard, can be brought into engagement with said rear side in an elegant manner. Upon sticking the hook portion of the anchor part through the through hole in the wallboard panel, the wall hanger can be turned by moving the connector part down, thereby moving the pointed distal end of the anchor part upward behind the wallboard panel. Due to the substantially C-shape of the hook portion of the anchor part, the pointed end curls back to the wallboard and can cut into the rear side of the wallboard panel. Surprisingly, it has been found that when the anchor part curves back relatively strongly when the height of the anchor part is relatively small with respect to the depth of the anchor part, especially when said height does not exceed 1.5 times the anchor part’s depth, the anchor part can be used relatively well to mount the wall hanger on a hollow wall having a relatively narrow hollow space.Once the distal end region of the substantially C-shaped hook portion or the anchor part has stuck through a through hole through a wallboard panel or a wall, the pointed distal end or said substantial Cshaped hook portion will curl back to the wallboard, ie to the rear side of said wallboard due to the curved shape of the substantial C-shaped hook portion, as a result of which the pointed distal end, which is for anchoring the wall hanger at the rear side of the wallboard, can be brought into engagement with said rear side in an elegant manner. Upon sticking the hook part of the anchor part through the through hole in the wallboard panel, the wall hanger can be turned by moving the connector part down, moving the pointed distal end or the anchor part upward behind the wallboard panel. Due to the substantial C-shape or the hook part or the anchor part, the pointed end curls back to the wallboard and can be cut into the rear side or the wallboard panel. Surprisingly, it has been found that when the anchor part curves back relatively strongly when the height of the anchor part is relatively small with respect to the depth of the anchor part, especially when said height does not exceed 1.5 times the anchor part's depth, the anchor part can be used relatively well to mount the wall hanger on a hollow wall having a relatively narrow hollow space.

In particular, it can be counteracted that the anchor part, which thus has a relatively small height in comparison to its depth, can accidentally engage a wall element, e.g. a masonry wall, located behind the wallboard panel covering said wall element. This may for example counteract that the pointed end of the anchor part can accidently hook behind a protrusion, e.g. a protruding mortar joint, or in a cavity of such masonry wall.In particular, it can be counteracted that the anchor part, which thus has a relatively small height in comparison to its depth, can accidentally engage a wall element, e.g. a masonry wall, located behind the wallboard panel covering said wall element. This may be an example counteract that the pointed end of the anchor part can be accidentally hooked behind a protrusion, e.g. a protruding mortar joint, or in a cavity or such masonry wall.

The relatively low height of the anchor part in combination with the shape of the anchor part, which comprises a curved C-shape, in particular a substantially circular arc-shape, and a second portion extending away from the proximal end of the substantially C-shaped portion, can facilitate that the centre of rotation about which the wall hanger is rotated upon installation may, at least during a first part of said installation, lie relatively far forward, i.e. relatively far in front of a wall element, such as a masonry wall, extending behind the wallboard panel. In particular, the anchor part’s second portion, especially the proximal end of said second portion, and/or the connector part connected to said second portion, especially when being substantially rigid, may counteract that the pointed distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portion will stuck relatively far behind the wallboard panel before it will be curled up to such extent that it is directed to the rear side of the wallboard panel instead of being directed away from said rear side. For example, the anchor part’s second portion, especially the proximal end of said second portion, and/or the connector part connected to said second portion, especially when being substantially rigid, may abut the front side of the wallboard panel, and may then force a user to rotate the substantially C-shaped hook portion shortly after its pointed distal end reaches the rear end of the through hole, thereby forcing a user to curl back the pointed distal end relatively swiftly, i.e. before it reaches relatively deep behind the wallboard panel. It can thus be facilitated that the anchor part is only moved relatively deep into the hollow space behind the wallboard panel after the pointed end is already directed towards the rear side of the wallboard panel instead of still being directed towards the wall element, such as a masonry wall, extending behind the wallboard panel. Hence, it can be facilitated that when the anchor part is moved deeper into the wall, it is not the pointed distal end which will abut said second wall element, but it is a curved outer surface of the substantially Cshape which will touch the second wall element. This is advantageous, as, contrary to a pointed anchoring end, such curved outer surface will not easily stay stuck unintentionally, and might even guide the anchoring part. The relatively low height of the anchor part in combination with the shape of the anchor part, which comprises a curved C-shape, in particular a substantially circular arc-shape, and a second portion extending away from the proximal end of the substantial C- shaped portion, can facilitate that the center of rotation about which the wall hanger is rotated upon installation may, at least during a first part of said installation, lie relatively far forward, ie relatively far in front of a wall element, such as a masonry wall, extending behind the wallboard panel. In particular, the anchor part's second portion, especially the proximal end or said second portion, and / or the connector part connected to said second portion, especially when being substantially rigid, may counteract the pointed distal end of the substantial C-shaped hook portion will stuck relatively far behind the wallboard panel before it will be curled up to such extent that it is directed to the rear side of the wallboard panel instead of being directed away from said rear side. For example, the anchor part's second portion, especially the proximal end or said second portion, and / or the connector part connected to said second portion, especially when being substantially rigid, may abut the front side of the wallboard panel, and may then force a user to rotate the substantially C-shaped hook portion shortly after its pointed distal end reaches the rear end of the through hole, continuously forcing a user to curl back the pointed distal end relatively swiftly, ie before it reaches relatively deep behind the wallboard panel . It can thus be facilitated that the anchor part is only moved relatively deep into the hollow space behind the wallboard panel after the pointed end is already directed towards the rear side of the wallboard panel instead of still being directed towards the wall element, such as a masonry wall, extending behind the wallboard panel. Hence, it can be facilitated when the anchor part is moved deeper into the wall, it is not the pointed distal end which will abut said second wall element, but it is a curved outer surface of the substantial Cshape which will touch the second wall element. This is advantageous, as opposed to a pointed anchoring end, such curved outer surface will not easily stay stuck unintentionally, and might even guide the anchoring part.

As a result, it can be facilitated that a wall defining a relatively narrow space behind its wallboard panel can be provided in a relatively simple, relatively swift, and/or relatively error insensitive manner with a connector, formed by the connector part of the wall hanger, for hanging an object, such as a picture, onto said wall.As a result, it can be facilitated that a wall defining a relatively narrow space behind its wallboard panel can be provided in a relatively simple, relatively swift, and / or relatively error insensitive manner with a connector, formed by the connector part of the wall hanger, for hanging an object, such as a picture, onto the wall.

It is noted that, especially in order to allow the pointed distal end to be curled back to the wallboard panel relatively quickly, the through hole in the wallboard panel may have a height which is relatively large compared to the corresponding thickness of the anchor part. For example, the height of the through hole may be at least 40%, preferably at least 50% or at least 60% larger than said anchor part’s thickness. For example, in case the anchor part is made of a wire material having a certain diameter, the height of the through hole may be at least 1.5 times, for example at least 2, 2.5 or at least 3 times as large as the anchor part’s thickness formed by said diameter. It is noted that, especially in order to allow the pointed distal end to be curled back to the wallboard panel relatively quickly, the through hole in the wallboard panel may have a height which is relatively large compared to the corresponding thickness of the anchor part. By forming the substantially C-shaped hook portion of the anchor part substantially as a circular arc, in particular such that the circular arc subtends an angle at the centre of the imaginary circle of the circular arc that is at least 135°, preferably at least 150° or at least 165°, such as about 180°, it can be facihtated that the pointed distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portion curves backs relatively strong, and, during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from any element, such as a masonry wall, located behind the wallboard panel, thereby counteracting that the anchor part gets stuck.By forming the substantial C-shaped hook portion or the anchor part substantially as a circular arc, in particular such that the circular arc subtends at the center of the imaginary circle of the circular arc that is at least 135 °, preferably at least 150 ° or at least 165 °, such as about 180 °, it can be facihtated that the pointed distal end of the substantial C-shaped hook portion curves backs relatively strong, and during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from any element, such as a masonry wall, located behind the wallboard panel, waiting counteracting that the anchor part gets stuck.

By making the elongate anchor part relatively rigid, it may be counteracted that the anchor part unintentionally deforms. For example, it may be counteracted that the anchor part deforms unintentionally due to the shape of the through hole when it is being passed through said through hole. It may thus be counteracted that the pointed distal end does not curl back in time, but sticks towards a masonry wall. For instance therefore, making at least the elongate part, and preferably substantially the complete wall hanger, relatively rigid, may further counteract that the hook portion accidentally gets stuck behind the masonry wall. Additionally or alternatively, the relatively high rigidity may facilitate in that in case the pointed distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portions would nevertheless hook behind a masonry joint, which is relatively brittle, the hook portions could be pushed through such masonry joint protruding from the masonry wall located behind the wallboard panel, without deforming the substantially C-shaped hook portion, such that the pointed tip of said substantially C-shaped hook portion will still curl back to the wallboard and can then anchor into the rear side thereof. Preferably, the elongate anchor part, and preferably substantially the complete wall hanger, is rigid to such extent, that once the wall hanger is mounted in a gypsum wallboard, it will substantially not deform when a 40 kg load is applied. More preferably, it will be rigid enough to prevent that it will substantially deform when a load of at least 60 kg, at least 100 kg, or even 150 kg, is applied.By making the elongate anchor part relatively rigid, it may be counteracted that the anchor part unintentionally deforms. In embodiments, the anchor part can be formed such that, at a location near the pointed distal end of the anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion, the tangent line to the curve of the central axis of said substantially C-shaped hook portion is, in the installed position of the wall hanger, at a predefined angle with the wallboard panel of the wall, wherein said predefined angle is at least 45°. As a result, the pointed distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portion curves backs relatively strong, and, during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from the wall element located behind the wallboard panel, thereby counteracting that the anchor part gets stuck. In vary, the anchor part can be formed such that, at a location near the pointed distal end of the anchor part's substantially C-shaped hook portion, the tangent line to the curve of the central axis or said substantial C-shaped hook portion is , in the installed position of the wall hanger, at a predefined angle with the wallboard panel of the wall, said said predefined angle is at least 45 °. As a result, the pointed distal end of the substantial C-shaped hook portion curves backs relatively strong, during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from the wall element located behind the wallboard panel, count countering that the anchor part gets stuck.

By forming the anchor part such that, at a location near the pointed distal end of the anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion, the tangent line to the curve of the central axis of said substantially C-shaped hook portion is at a predefined angle with the central axis of the anchor part’s second section, which second section may preferably extend substantially in a linear direction, and wherein said predefined angle is at most 45°, it can be facilitated in a relatively elegant manner that the pointed distal end curves backs relatively strong, and, during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from the wall element located behind the wallboard panel, thereby counteracting that the anchor part gets stuck.By forming the anchor part such that, at a location near the pointed distal end of the anchor part's substantially C-shaped hook portion, the tangent line to the curve of the central axis or said substantial C-shaped hook portion is at a predefined angle with the central axis of the anchor part's second section, which second section may preferably extend substantially in a linear direction, and said predefined angle is at most 45 °, it can be facilitated in a relatively elegant manner that the pointed distal end curves backs relatively strong, and, during installation of the wall hanger, moves relatively swiftly away from the wall element located behind the wallboard panel, expect counteracting that the anchor part gets stuck.

By bevelling the distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portion of the elongate anchor part such that a distal end of the bevelled edge forming the tip of the pointed distal end is located more inward with respect to the curvature of the substantially C-shaped hook portion than a proximal end of the bevelled edge, it can be further counteracted that said tip accidently engages a masonry wall or other wall element located behind the wallboard panel.By bevelling the distal end of the substantially C-shaped hook portion of the elongate anchor part such that a distal end of the ordered edge forming the tip of the pointed distal end is located more inward with respect to the curvature of the substantially C-shaped hook portion than a proximal end of the ordered edge, it can be further counteracted that said tip accidentally engages a masonry wall or other wall element located behind the wallboard panel.

Additionally or alternatively, the height of the anchor part can be at most 30 mm, preferably at most 28 mm, more preferably at most 25 mm, such as about 20 mm, and/or the depth of the anchor part is at most 25 mm, preferably at most 23 mm, more preferably at most 20 mm, such as between 15 mm and 20 mm.Additionally or alternatively, the height of the anchor part can be at most 30 mm, preferably at most 28 mm, more preferably at most 25 mm, such as about 20 mm, and / or the depth of the anchor part is at most 25 mm , preferably at most 23 mm, more preferably at most 20 mm, such as between 15 mm and 20 mm.

By integrally making at least the anchor part, and preferably the entire wall hanger, from wire material, in particular metal wire, more in particular steel wire, the wall hanger can be of a relatively simple and/or cost efficient design. Preferably, the diameter of the wire material may be between 1.7 mm and 3.5 mm, more preferably between 2 mm and 3 mm, in particular about 2.5 mm. By using drawn steel wire, it can be facilitated that the anchor part and/or the wall hanger can have sufficient rigidity.By integrally making at least the anchor part, and preferably the entire wall hanger, from wire material, in particular metal wire, more in particular steel wire, the wall hanger can be a relatively simple and / or cost efficient design. Preferably, the connector part has a mass being larger than the mass of the substantially C-shaped hook portion, as a result of which it can be facilitated that when the anchor part’s second portion extends through the through hole, and the wall hanger has been installed, the wall hanger may stay in its intended upright position and it can thus be counteracted that it unintentionally turns about the central axis of the anchor part’s second portion. Thanks to the relatively heavy connector part, it might, even be facilitated that the wall hanger, when the pointed distal end has not yet been firmly anchored into the wallboard panel’s rear side, might, due to gravity, turn towards an upright position in which the substantially C-shaped hook portion extends upwards from said second portion and said connector parts hangs downwards from said second portion. In case the wall hanger, or at least the connector part and the substantially C-shaped hook portion, are made of the same wire material, the mass of the connector part may be relatively large with respect to the substantially C-shaped hook portion by making the connector part’s length longer than the substantially C-shaped hook portion’s length, when measured along their respective central axes.Preferably, the connector part has a mass being larger than the mass of the substantially C-shaped hook portion, as a result of which it can be facilitated when the anchor part's second portion extends through the through hole, and the wall hanger has been installed, the wall hanger may stay in its intended upright position and it can thus be counteracted that it unintentionally turns about the central axis or the anchor part's second portion. It is noted that the wall hanger 1 is for hanging an object on a wall 2, in particular a substantially vertical wall 2. Said object to be hung, which is not shown, can for instance be a picture, a mirror or the like. In particular, the wall hanger is arranged for hanging the object to a so-called hollow wall 2, which comprises a first wall element 21 formed as a wallboard panel 21 which may be located in front of a second wall element 25, such as for instance a masonry wall 25. It will be appreciated that the wallboard panel 21 can at least partly cover the second wall element 25 located behind said wallboard panel 21. For example, the wallboard panel 21 can form a liner for finishing an interior wall.It is noted that the wall hanger 1 is for hanging an object on a wall 2, in particular a substantially vertical wall 2. In embodiments, the wallboard panel 21 may be a plasterboard or gypsum panel 210, which may comprise gypsum or plaster, which may be pressed between a facer 211 and a backer 212, which may be formed as sheets of paper or the like. However, in alternative embodiments, the wallboard panel, which can be understood as meaning a structural rigid boarding, in particular for finishing or sheathing a wall, more in particular an interior wall, may be another type of wallboard panel, for instance made of another material, such as wood pulp, or plastic. In May, the wallboard panel 21 may be a plasterboard or gypsum panel 210, which may include gypsum or plaster, which may be pressed between a facer 211 and a backer 212, which may be formed as sheets or paper or the like. However, in alternative possibilities, the wallboard panel, which can be understood as meaning a structural rigid boarding, in particular for finishing or sheathing a wall, more in particular for an interior wall, may be another type of wallboard panel, for instance made or another material, such as wood pulp, or plastic.

Typically, the wallboard panel 21 can have a depth D21 of about 1 cm, such as for instance 95 mm, 100 mm or 125 mm. However, said panel 21 may have another depth D21 or thickness, such as for instance 5/8 inch, which is about 1,59 cm. Preferably, the wallboard panel’s depth D21 may be not larger than 2 cm or 1.7 cm, and/or may be not smaller than 0.8 cm.Typically, the wallboard panel 21 can have a depth of D21 or about 1 cm, such as for instance 95 mm, 100 mm or 125 mm. Preferably, the wallboard panel's depth D21 may not be larger than 2 cm or 1.7 cm, and / or may not be smaller than 0.8 cm.

As can be seen in Fig. 1, the wallboard panel 21 can be offset from the second wall element 25 there behind, thereby defining a hollow space 26 between said wallboard panel 21 and the second wall element 25. Typically, in particular in the Netherlands and/or other European countries, the depth D26 of the hollow space 26, measured in a direction transverse to the wallboard panel 21, is not larger than 250% of the depth D21 of the wallboard panel 21, preferably not larger than 200%. For example, the depth D26 of the hollow space 26 may be at most about 1,5 times the depth D21 of the wallboard panel 21.As can be seen in FIG. 1, the wallboard panel 21 can be offset from the second wall element 25 there behind, defining a hollow space 26 between said wallboard panel 21 and the second wall element 25. For example, the depth D26 or the hollow space 26 may be at most about 1.5 times the depth D21 or the wallboard panel 21.

In embodiments of an assembly of a wall 2, in particular a substantially vertically extending wall, and an installed wall hanger 1, the depth D26 of the hollow space 26 may be not larger than 3 cm, or not larger than 2.5 cm or 2 cm, or may, in embodiments, even be 1.5 cm or 1.2 cm at most.In a version of a assembly of a wall 2, in particular a substantially vertically extending wall, and an installed wall hanger 1, the depth D26 or the hollow space 26 may not be larger than 3 cm, or not larger than 2.5 cm or 2 cm , or may, in various, even be 1.5 cm or 1.2 cm at most.

The wall hanger 1 comprises a first part 11, which forms an anchor part 11 for anchoring the wall hanger 1 to the wall 2. Further, the wall hanger 1 comprises a second part 12, which forms a connector part 12 for holding the object to be hung to the wall hanger 1.The wall hanger 1 comprises a first part 11, which forms an anchor part 11 for anchoring the wall hanger 1 to the wall 2. Further, the wall hanger 1 comprises a second part 12, which forms a connector part 12 for holding the object to be hung to the wall hanger 1.

It is noted that, at least in embodiments, the anchor part 11 may be considered as all sections of the wall hanger 1 that, in the mounted position of the wall hanger 1, are located in or behind the wallboard panelIt is noted that the anchor part 11 may be considered as all sections of the wall hanger 1 that is, in the mounted position of the wall hanger 1, located in or behind the wallboard panel

21. Additionally, or alternatively, at least in embodiments, the connector part 12 may be considered to be formed by all section of the wall hanger 1 that, in the mounted position of the wall hanger 1, are located at an/or protruding from the front side of the wallboard panel 21.21. Additionally, or alternatively, least, the connector part 12 may be considered to be formed by all section of the wall hanger 1 that, in the mounted position of the wall hanger 1, are located at a / or protruding from the front side or the wallboard panel 21.

The anchor part 11, which is an elongate part 11, includes a substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 having a distal end terminating in a pointed tip. The pointed distal end 112 is for anchoring at the rear side of a wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2. As may be understood from Fig. 1, once the anchor part 11 is driven into the wall 2, said pointed distal end 112 can anchor into the rear side 24 of the wallboard panel. The anchor part 11, which is an elongate part 11, includes a substantial C-shaped hook portion 111 having a distal end terminating in a pointed tip. The pointed distal end 112 is for anchoring at the rear side of a wallboard panel 21 or the wall 2. As may be understood from Fig. 1, once the anchor part 11 is driven into the wall 2, said pointed distal end 112 can anchor into the rear side 24 or the wallboard panel.

It is noted that the anchor part 11 of the wall hanger 1 is to be inserted into a pre-existing through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21. Said through hole 22 can for instance be formed by piercing the wallboard panel, for instance by means of a pointy blade of a pair of scissors or an awl or other pointed spike. Since the wallboard panel, in particular a gypsum panel, can be pierced relatively easily, one does thus not need advanced tools, such as a drill, but may use a simple tool such as for instance a screwdriver, a pair of scissors, a skewer, or even a toothpick. In this context, it is noted that the through hole 22 does not need to have exactly predetermined dimensions, and may be much higher and/or much wider than the thickness of the anchor part’s elongate body, as a result of which it can suffice to just pierce the wallboard panel 21 by any means. Having said that, it will be appreciated that the height of the through hole 22 should of course be smaller than the height Hll of the anchor part 11, such as to facilitate that the pointed distal end 112 can anchor in the rear side of the wallboard panel 21 and such as to prevent the anchor part 11, once the wall hanger 1 is in its final upright position, can be simply pulled forward out of the wall 2.It is noted that the anchor part 11 or the wall hanger 1 is inserted into a pre-existing through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21. Said through hole 22 can for instance be formed by piercing the wallboard panel, for instance by means or a pointy blade or a pair of scissors or an awl or other pointed spike. Since the wallboard panel, in particular a gypsum panel, can be pierced relatively easily, one does not need advanced tools, such as a drill, but may use a simple tool such as for a screwdriver, a pair of scissors, a skewer , or even a toothpick. In this context, it is noted that the through hole 22 does not need to have exactly predetermined dimensions, and may be much higher and / or much wider than the thickness of the anchor part's elongate body, as a result or which it can suffice to just pierce the wallboard panel 21 by any means. Having said that, it will be appreciated that the height of the through hole 22 should of course be narrower than the height Hll of the anchor part 11, such as to facilitate that the pointed distal end 112 can anchor in the rear side of the wallboard panel 21 and such as to prevent the anchor part 11, once the wall hanger 1 is in its final upright position, can simply be pulled out of the wall 2.

Upon installation the wall hanger 1, while pushing the anchor part 11 through the through hole 22 and into the wall 2, the wall hanger 1 can be turned, as is indicated in Fig. 1 by arrow 3. After moved completely through the wallboard panel 21, the pointed tip 112 may then for instance turn back to said wallboard panel 21, and may subsequently be driven into the rear side 24 of said panel 21 to some extent in order to anchor the wall hanger 1.Upon installation the wall hanger 1, while pushing the anchor part 11 through the through hole 22 and into the wall 2, the wall hanger 1 can be turned, as is indicated in Fig. 1 by arrow 3. After moved completely through the wallboard panel 21, the pointed tip 112 may then for instance turn back to said wallboard panel 21, and may subsequently be driven into the rear side 24 or said panel 21 to some extent in order to anchor the wall hanger 1.

At the substantially C-shaped hook portion’s proximal end 113, opposite to its pointed distal end 112, said hook portion 111 merges into the second portion 114 of the anchor part 11. Said second portion 114 of the anchor part 11 forms an intermediate part 114 of the wall hanger 1 which interconnects the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 with the connector part 12. Said anchor part’s second portion 114, which may form a central portion 114 of the wall hanger 1, may, in the installed state of said wall hanger 1, extend through a through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21. In particular, said through hole 22 may extend substantially horizontally and/or substantially transverse to the wallboard panel 21. Advantageously, said second portion 114 may, in said installed state of said wall hanger 1, engage the wall surface 220 defining said hole 22 and be supported thereon. In particular, the bottom side of the second portion 114 may lie upon the lower end of the surface of the through hole 2.At the substantial C-shaped hook portions proximal end 113, opposite to its pointed distal end 112, said hook portion 111 merges into the second portion 114 or the anchor part 11. Said second portion 114 or the anchor part 11 forms an intermediate part 114 of the wall hanger 1 which interconnects the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 with the connector part 12. Said anchor part's second portion 114, which may form a central portion 114 or the wall hanger 1, may, in the installed state of said wall hanger 1, extend through a through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21. In particular, said through hole 22 may extend substantially horizontally and / or substantially transverse to the wallboard panel 21. Advantageously, said second portion 114 may, in said installed state of said wall hanger 1, engage the wall surface 220 defining said hole 22 and be supported thereon. In particular, the bottom side of the second portion 114 may lie on the lower end of the surface of the through hole 2.

The upper side of the second portion 114 does not need to be in touch with the upper end of the wall surface of the through hole 22.The upper side of the second portion 114 does not need to be in touch with the upper end of the wall surface or the through hole 22.

Actually, the wall hanger 1 may touch the wallboard panel 1 only in three locations, i.e. the location where the pointed end 112 anchors in the rear side of the panel 21, the location where the second portion 114 is supported on the wallboard panel material at the bottom side of the through hole , and the location where a stop surface 122 at the rear side of the connector part 12 abuts the front side of the wallboard panel 21.Actually, the wall hanger 1 may touch the wallboard panel 1 only in three locations, ie the location where the pointed end 112 anchors in the rear side of the panel 21, the location where the second portion 114 is supported on the wallboard panel material at the bottom side of the through hole, and the location where a stop surface 122 at the rear side of the connector part 12 abuts the front side of the wallboard panel 21.

During use, when the anchor part 11 of the wall hanger 1 is anchored to the wall 2, the second portion 114 of the anchor part 11 can extend through the through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2. The anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 can extend substantially at a rear side 24 of the wallboard panel 21 within the hollow space 26 between said wallboard panel 21 and the second wall element 25.During use, when the anchor part 11 or the wall hanger 1 is anchored to the wall 2, the second portion 114 or the anchor part 11 can extend through the through hole 22 in the wallboard panel 21 or the wall 2. In embodiments, the anchor part 11 of the wall hanger 1, and preferably the entire wall hanger 1, can be formed as an elongate part or element. Additionally or alternatively, the wall hanger 1, or at least its anchor part 1, may be formed from a single wire. In embodiments, the anchor part 11, and preferably the entire wall hanger 1, may be integrally formed from wire material, in particular metal wire, more in particular steel wire. The wire material can be embodied by a cylindrical rod of metal, having a substantially round cross section. In different, the anchor part 11 or the wall hanger 1, and preferably the entire wall hanger 1, can be formed as an elongate part or element. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, at least the anchor part 11 of the wall hanger 1 is substantially rigid. This is, during normal use, said anchor part 11 is substantially inflexible. In embodiments, substantially the entire wall hanger 11 may be substantially rigid or inflexible.According to an aspect of the present disclosure, at least the anchor part 11 or the wall hanger 1 is substantially rigid. For instance in order to provide sufficient rigidity, the wall hanger 1, or at least its anchor part 11, may be made from drawn steel wire. For instance in order to provide sufficient rigidity, the wall hanger 1, or at least its anchor part 11, may be made from drawn steel wire.

It is noted that the anchor part 11 has a height Hl 1 which is relatively small with regard to the depth Dll of the anchor part 11. In particular, the anchor part’s height Hll is at most 1.5 times the anchor part’s depth Dll.It is noted that the anchor part 11 has a height Hl 1 which is relatively small with regard to the depth Dll or the anchor part 11. It is further noted, that in this context, the height Hll of the anchor part 11 may be considered as the height during normal use, when the wall hanger 1 is in its installed position, and preferably is in a substantially upright position such as is shown in Fig. 1. The anchor part’s height Hll can be measured in a vertical direction and from the bottom end of the hole 22 up to the upper end of the anchor part 11, which upper end may then be formed by a distal end section of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111.It is further noted, that in this context, the height Hll of the anchor part 11 may be considered as the height during normal use, when the wall hanger 1 is in its installed position, and preferably in a substantially upright position such as is shown in FIG. 1. Additionally, in this context, the anchor part’s depth Dll may be considered as the depth during normal use, when the wall hanger 1 is in its installed position, and preferably is in a substantially upright position such as is shown in Fig. 1. The anchor part’s depth Dll can be measured from the front side 23 of the wallboard panel 21 up to the most rearward located point of the anchor part 11, in particular in a direction substantially transverse to said wallboard panel 21.Additionally, in this context, the anchor part's depth Dll may be considered as the depth during normal use, when the wall hanger 1 is in its installed position, and preferably in a substantially upright position such as is shown in Figs. 1. The anchor part's depth Dll can be measured from the front side 23 or the wallboard panel 21 up to the most rearwardly located point of the anchor part 11, in particular in a direction substantial transverse to said wallboard panel 21.

Advantageously, the height Hll of the anchor part 11 can be chosen such as to be at most 30 mm, preferably at most 28 mm, more preferably at most 25 mm, such as about 20 mm. Additionally or alternatively, the depth Dll of the anchor part 11 can be chosen such as to be at most 25 mm, preferably at most 23 mm, more preferably at most 20 mm, such as between 15 mm and 20 mm.Advantageously, the height Hll of the anchor part 11 can be chosen such as to be at most 30 mm, preferably at most 28 mm, more preferably at most 25 mm, such as about 20 mm. It is noted that the height Hll and/or the depth Dll of the anchor part 11 may be such that it is not greater than 2.5 times the depth D21 of the wallboard panel 21, preferably not more than 2 times, such as about 1.5 times. Additionally or alternatively, the total length of the elongate anchor part 11, measured from the proximal end 115 of its second portion 114 up to its pointed distal end 112, can be such that it is at most 3 times the depth D21 of the wallboard panel 21, preferably at most 2.5 times. Hence, it can be counteracted that the anchor portion 11 protrudes relatively far rearwards from said wallboard panel 21 during the installation of the wall hanger 1, 1’, as a result of which it can be facilitated that the wall hanger 1, 1’ may be installed properly, even when there is relatively little space between said wallboard panel 21 and a second wall element 25 finished by means of said panel 21, e.g. when the depth D26 of the hollow space 26 is relatively small. It is noted that the height Hll and / or the depth Dll of the anchor part 11 may be such that it is not more than 2.5 times the depth D21 or the wallboard panel 21, preferably not more than 2 times, such as about 1.5 times . The connector part 12 of the wall hanger 1 can, such as is shown in the exemplary embodiment of Fig. 1, include a leg portion 121, which, during use of the wall hanger 1, when the second portion 114 of the anchor part 11 is extending through the, preferably substantially horizontally extending, through 22 hole, may extend substantially vertically downwards from said second portion 114 along a front side 23 of said wallboard panel 21. During use of the wall hanger 1, the second portion 114 of the anchor part 11 is thus extending from the upper end of said leg portion 121 in a rearward direction, preferably substantially horizontally and/or substantially transverse to the wallboard panel 21. Advantageously, the connector part 12, especially its leg portion 121, if any, may merge into the second portion 114 of the anchor part 11, preferably such that said leg portion 121 and/or connector part 12 forms an integral whole with the anchor part’s second portion 114 or even with the entire anchor part 11.The connector part 12 or the wall hanger 1 can, such as is shown in the exemplary embodiment of Figs. 1, include a leg portion 121, which, during use of the wall hanger 1, when the second portion 114 or the anchor part 11 is extending through the, preferably substantially horizontally extending, through 22 hole, may extend substantially vertically downwards from said second portion 114 along a front side 23 or said wallboard panel 21. In embodiments, both a central axis Al 14 of the anchor part’s second portion 114 and a central axis A121 of the connector part’s leg portion 121 substantially extend in one plane. When seen in a direction transverse to said plane, the leg portion 121 may, in embodiments, extend downwards from a proximal end 115 of said second portion 114. Additionally or alternatively, the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 may curve upwards from a distal end 116 of the second portion 114, and preferably said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 may extend substantially in said plane as well. Advantageously, such as for instance is the case in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the entire wall hanger 1 may extend substantially in a single plane, such that, when the unmounted wall hanger lies on a flat surface, no parts of the wall hanger 1 substantially erects from said flat surface. In different ways, both a central axis Already 14 or the anchor parts second portion 114 and a central axis A121 or the connector parts leg portion 121 substantially extend in one plane. The wall hanger 1, in particular it connector part, 12, more in particular its said leg portion 121, can define or comprise a stop surface 122 for limiting the extent to which the second portion 114 can be moved into the wall 2 and/or into the wallboard panel 21. For instance when turning the wall hanger 1, 1’ during its installation, the leg portion 121, in particular its rear side 123, may, once abutting the front side 23 of the wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2, prevent that one pushes the anchor part 11 further into the wall 2.The wall hanger 1, in particular it connector part, 12, more in particular its said leg portion 121, can define or include a stop surface 122 for limiting the extent to which the second portion 114 can be moved into the wall 2 and / or into the wallboard panel 21. For instance when turning the wall hanger 1, 1 during its installation, the leg portion 121, in particular its rear side 123, may, once abutting the front side 23 of the wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2 , prevent that one pushes the anchor part 11 further into the wall 2.

It will be appreciated that the wall hanger 1 can be arranged such that, in the installed position of the wall hanger 1, no portions of the connector part 12 will extend beyond the stop surface 122 at the rear side of said connector part 12, such that the most rearward located surface can form the stop surface 122.It will be appreciated that the wall hanger 1 can be arranged such that, in the installed position of the wall hanger 1, no portions of the connector part 12 will extend beyond the stop surface 122 at the rear side or said connector part 12, such that the most rearwardly located surface can form the stop surface 122.

11. Additionally or alternatively, when the wall hanger 1’ is not installed, the anchor part’s depth Dll’ may in embodiments be measured in a direction transverse to a direction in which the stop surface 122’ extends and may then be measured from said stop surface 122’ up to the most rearward protruding point of the anchor part.11. Additionally or alternatively, when the wall hanger 1 is not installed, the anchor part's depth Dll 'may be measured in a direction transverse to a direction in which the stop surface 122' extends and may then be measured from said stop surface 122 'up to the most rearward protruding point of the anchor part.

In preferred embodiments, the anchor part 11 may be of such design that, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 of the anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 is, during use of the wall hanger 1, at a predefined angle a with the wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2, wherein said predefined first angle a is at least 45°. Additionally or alternatively, in case of a stop surface 122 as mentioned above, the anchor part 11 may be arranged such that, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 of the anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 is at a predefined angle a with the direction in said stop surface 122 is extending, wherein said predefined angle a is at least 45°.In preferred embodiment, the anchor part 11 may be or such design that, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 or the anchor parts substantially C-shaped hook portion 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion is 111, during use of the wall hanger 1, at a predefined angle with the wallboard panel 21 of the wall 2, said predefined first angle is at least 45 °. Additionally or alternatively, in case of a stop surface 122 as mentioned above, the anchor part 11 may be arranged such, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 or the anchor part's substantial C-shaped hook portion 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli or said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 is at a predefined angle with the direction in said stop surface 122 is extending, said said predefined angle is at least 45 °.

Additionally or alternatively, the anchor part 11 can be formed such that, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 of the anchor part’s substantially C-shaped hook portion 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 is at a predefined second angle 6 with the central axis Al 14 of the anchor part’s second section 114, wherein said predefined second angle 6 is not larger than 45°.Additionally or alternatively, the anchor part 11 can be formed such that, at a location near the pointed distal end 112 of the anchor parts substantially C-shaped hook part 111, the tangent line Till to the curve of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 is at a predefined second angle 6 with the central axis Already 14 of the anchor part's second section 114, said predefined second angle 6 is not larger than 45 °.

By choosing said first angle a such that it is at least 45°, for instance being not smaller than 55°, not smaller than 65°, or not smaller than 75°, and/or by choosing said second angle 6 such that is at most 45°, for instance being not larger than 35°, not larger than 25°, or not larger than 15°, it can be facilitated that the pointed tip 112 of the anchor part 11 curls back to the wallboard panel 21 relatively quickly after it has been pushed through said panel 21. As a result, it can be counteracted that said pointed tip 112 engages the second wall element 25, in particular having a relatively rough and unfinished wall surface 250, and gets stuck, which would be highly undesirable.45 °, for instance being not narrower than 55 °, not narrower than 65 °, or not narrower than 75 °, and / or by choosing said second angle 6 such that is at most 45 °, for instance being not larger than 35 °, not larger than 25 °, or not larger than 15 °, it can be facilitated that the pointed tip 112 or the anchor part 11 curls back to the wallboard panel 21 relatively quickly after it has been pushed through said panel 21. As a result, it can be counteracted that said pointed tip 112 engages the second wall element 25, in particular having a relatively rough and unfinished wall surface 250, and gets stuck, which would be highly undesirable .

In embodiments, the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 of the anchor part 11 can be substantially formed as a circular arc. In particular, as can be seen in the exemplary embodiment of Fig. 1, the circular arc may subtend an angle γ at the centre C111 of the imaginary circle of the circular arc that is at least 135°, preferably at least 150° or at least 165°, such as about 180°. As a result, it may be counteracted that, during the mounting of the wall hanger 1, the pointed tip 112 of its C-shaped hook portion 111 unintentionally engages a wall element 25 located behind the wallboard panel 21.In substantial, the substantial C-shaped hook portion 111 or the anchor part 11 can be substantially formed as a circular arc. In particular, as can be seen in the exemplary embodiment of Figs. 1, the circular arc may subtend an angle γ at the center C111 or the imaginary circle of the circular arc that is at least 135 °, preferably at least 150 ° or at least 165 °, such as about 180 °. As a result, it may be counteracted that, during the mounting of the wall hanger 1, the pointed tip 112 or its C-shaped hook portion 111 unintentionally engages a wall element 25 located behind the wallboard panel 21.

Additionally or alternatively, the distal end 112 of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 of the elongate anchor part 11 can be designed such as to counteract that it may get stuck when it hits into such a second wall element 25 located behind the wallboard panel 21. For example, said distal end 112 can be bevelled such that a distal end 117 of the bevelled edge 118 forming the tip 117 of the pointed distal end 112 is located more inward with respect to the curvature of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 than a proximal end 119 of the bevelled edge 118. This is, the point 117 of the pointed distal end 112 can be located at the inward side of the central axis Alli of said substantially C-shaped hook portion 111, whereas the proximal end 119 of the bevelled edge 118 can be located at the outward side of said central axis Alli.Additionally or alternatively, the distal end 112 of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 of the elongate anchor part 11 can be designed such as to counteract that may get stuck when it hits into such a second wall element 25 located behind the wallboard panel 21. For example, said distal end 112 can be ordered such that a distal end 117 or the ordered edge 118 forming the tip 117 or the pointed distal end 112 is located more inward with respect to the curvature of the substantial C-shaped hook portion 111 than a proximal end 119 or the ordered edge 118. This is, the point 117 of the pointed distal end 112 can be located at the inward side of the central axis Alli or said substantial C-shaped hook portion 111, whereas the proximal end 119 of the ordered edge 118 can be located on the outward side of said central axis Alli.

Preferably, the bevelled edge 118 and the outer edge El 11 of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 can substantially enclose an obtuse angle ε, preferably an angle ε being at least 100°, more preferably at least 110°, such as at least 120°. Additionally or alternatively, the corner connecting the outer edge Ε111 of the hook portion 111 and the bevelled edge 118 can be relatively blunt, for instance by rounding it off, thereby counteracting that said corner itself may get stuck unintentionally.Preferably, the ordered edge 118 and the outer edge El 11 of the substantially C-shaped hook portion 111 can substantially enclose an obtuse angle ε, preferably an angle being at least 100 °, more preferably at least 110 °, such as at least 120 °. Additionally or alternatively, the corner connecting the outer edge Ε111 of the hook portion 111 and the ordered edge 118 can be relatively blunt, for instance by rounding it off, counter counteracting that said corner itself may get stuck unintentionally.

It is believed that the use of the wall hanger 1 will be apparent to a person skilled in the art.
