Abstract

Shelving display, comprising a stand with two facing walls, and a shelf support for supporting a shelf between said two walls. Title: Shelving display, shelf support, blank, and kit or parts

The present disclosure relates to a shelving display, in particular a point-of-sale shelving display. Such shelving displays are known and are often formed as collapsible or knock-down displays, which in particular may often be made substantially or cardboard or similar materials.

A known shelving display comprises a relatively rigid cardboard stand with two facing walls. Said shelving display further comprises a relatively flexible shelf support or solid paperboard for supporting a shelf between said two facing walls of the stand. The shelf support comprises a substantially horizontally extending central panel for supporting the shelf thereon and further comprises two upwardly extending side panels, which are hingedly connected to a respective one or two opposite lateral sides of the central panel. Each of the two side panels is provided with a first attachment means formed as a tab hingedly connected to the respective side panel by means of a fold line. In order to hang the shelf support onto the stand, each of the tabs is inserted into an opening provided in a respective one of said facing walls and slit down between two overlapping layers of said wall. When the shelf support has been installed, each of its side panels hangs down along the respective wall or the stand from the place where the tab is attached to said respective wall. The central panel is then extending substantially horizontally between the lower ends or said two side panels.

However, when the shelf support becomes loaded, e.g. by shelving products thereon, the side panels pull on the walls of the stand which may then be warp or buckle as a result. For example, the walls of the stand may tend to bulge out locally, e.g., in response to the loaded shelf support tending to pull said walls together to some extent at another location, in particular the location where the side panels are attached to said walls. In order to counteract undesired buckling or warping of the walls of the stand, the two overlapping layers of said walls can be made of relatively thick corrugated cardboard, as a result of which the entire stand may have been made of relatively thick material. As a result, the stand may be relatively expensive and / ore relatively heavy. Additional or alternatively, an additional stiffening layer can be provided between said two layers or said walls of the stand. As a result, the state may be relatively expensive, the state may be relatively heavy and / or manufacturing the state may be relatively complex.

An object of the present disclosure is to provide an alternative shelving display. In particular, it is an object of the present disclosure to alleviate or solve at least one disadvantage related to prior art shelving displays, more in particular a disadvantage mentioned above. In present, the present disclosure aims at providing a shelving display, preferably a collapsible shelving display, preferably substantially formed out of cardboard material, which shelving display is relatively easy to manufacture, which is relatively light in weight, and / or which is relatively cost efficient.

In a first aspect of the disclosure, the present disclosure provides for a shelving display, including a stand having two facing walls, the shelving display further including at least one shelf support for supporting a shelf between said two facing walls, subject the shelf support comprises a substantially horizontally extending central panel for supporting the shelf thereon, the shelf support further comprising two side panels upwardly extending from the central panel at two opposite lateral sides of the central panel, each of the two side panels is provided with a first attachment means and said two facing walls of the stand are provided with second attachment means to cooperate with said first attachment means such as to attach the shelf support between said two facing walls of the stand, said said first attachment means are located at upper regions of the side panels of the shelf support, the shelf support further comprises at least one connector for connecting the shelf support to one of the two facing walls of the stand at a location below the location at which the first attachment means is cooperating with the second attachment means.

It has surprisingly been found to provide the shelf support with at least one connector for connecting the shelf support to one of the two facing walls of the stand at a location below the location at which the first attachment means is cooperating with the second attachment means , buckling or warping or the walls of the stand can be counteracted. As a result, the walls of the stand may be relatively thin and / or may be or a relatively cost efficient design. For example, a stiffening layer may be omitted and / or the relatively thin material, especially relatively thin cardboard material, preferably relatively thin corrugated cardboard material, may be utilized.

In preferred, the shelf support comprises at least two connectors to connect the shelf support to the two facing walls of the stand, each at a position located below the respective one of the first attachment means, thus below the attachment means of the side panel attached the walls of the stand, both or said at least two connectors are located on opposite lateral sides of the shelf support. As a result, the shelf support can thus be attached to the stand at both lateral sides of the shelf support at two different height levels, continuously restraining the wall (s) relatively well and / or counteracting bending or twisting or the walls relatively well.

In shelving, a shelf support may be provided, both lateral sides are provided with an upper tab for hanging the shelf support into or onto a stand or a shelving display, and both lateral sides or the shelf support are additionally provided with a bottom tab, which may be extending from a bottom panel of the shelf support, and which may be connecting to the shelf support at a different height level.

Although it is preferred that the shelf support comprises thus at least two of such connectors, also are expired in which a connector is provided on only one lateral side of the shelf support. In such cases for instance, one of the two walls between which is a shelf support is installed, eg the one formed by an intermediate wall, may have relatively few issues with bending or bulging, for example because the freedom of movement or said wall is relatively restricted, eg due to the shelf supports located on its opposite side. The present disclosure also relates to a shelf support for a shelving display. Said shelf support can preferably be a collapsible shelf support, which for instance may be formed from a single blank, in particular a single blank or a cardboard material or the like, more in particular solid cardboard or solid paperboard. The present disclosure also relates to a kit or parts for forming a shelving display.

FIG. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a first edition of a shelving display 1. In particular, the shelving display 1 can be a point-of-sale shelving display for shelving and / or displaying products, such as food products and non-food products , eg household products.

The shelving display 1, or simply called display 1, can be formed as a modular display 1 including multiple parts or modules 2, 3, 4, 6, for instance such as shown in Figure 2 which shows a schematic exploded view of an alternative embodiment of the shelving display 1. For example, the modules of the shelving display 1 may include at least a stand 2 and one or multiple shelf supports 3.

In preferred, the shelving display 1 may be formed as a collapsible or knock-down display, and / or may be substantially made of cardboard or similar materials. Additionally or alternatively, at least some parts or modules 2, 3, 4, 6 may be made of cardboard or similar materials, and / or may be or collapsible design. For example, the shelf support 3 can be a collapsible shelf support 3, and / or the stand 2 can be a collapsible stand 2. It is noted that different parts, elements or modules of the display 1 may be made of different materials, eg different cardboard materials. For instance, the stand can be made of corrugated cardboard, and the shelf support 3 can be made of solid cardboard, in particular relatively thin and / or flexible solid cardboard.

It is noted that the shelving display 1 comprises a stand 2 or a so-called tower 2, an embodiment of which is shown in Figs. 3 in more detail. The stand 2 or so-called tower 2 can form a main structure 2 onto which one or more shelves 4 or so-called supports 4 can be hung by means of a shelf support 3 or so-called adapter 3. The stand 2 has at least two walls 21, 22, 23, least two 21, 22 or which form facing walls 21, 22 for supporting a shelf support 3 that can be hung therebetween. Shown here in Figs. 1-3, the shelving display 1 comprises an additional third wall 23, which is arranged to support further shelf supports (not shown) between said third wall 23 and a respective one 22 of the said two facing walls 21, 22, which here forms an intermediate wall 22. It will be appreciated that other designs are possible, for example the stand 2 may be designed for supporting only a single shelf support, or more preferably only a single column or shelf supports hung above each other between two facing walls, which two facing walls then for instance may form two outer side walls of the stand 2.

It is noted that the stand 2 may include further elements, such as for a rear wall 24 and / or fixation means 25 for mounting the stand to a base 5 to be placed on the ground and / or for supporting the stand, eg a base formed by a pallet or a dedicated reusable base, in particular made from a plastic material and / or arranged to be handled by means of a forklift, especially a pallet jack or so-called pump truck. Although the shelving display 1 may include such base 5, it may alternatively include another base, eg a base formed from cardboard material, which base may be integrated in the stand 2. The stand 2 may be formed as a single piece, but may alternatively include multiple elements, in particular loose parts not forming an integral stand.
