De onderhavige uitvinding betreft een 3D printer welke is voorzien van een tweede XZ portaal. Aan deze tweede portaal kan op de plaats van de extruder iets anders worden bevestigd wat extra bewerkingen uitvoert 5 op het 3d geprinte object. De tweede bewerking kan het opspuiten van diverse kleuren inkt met een inkjet installatie zijn. De werking van het geheel is dan dat de extruder in de eerste XZ-portaal een doorsnede van het object opbouwt. Daarna beweegt het object naar de tweede portaal. Daarna beweegt het object naar het tweede portaal. Hier wordt dan een gekleurde doorsnede op het object geprint doormiddel van de bekende inkjet techniek.
