Description
i Title: Combination cargo slide and motorcycle loader
DESCRIPTION The invention refers to a device arranged for either load- ing a motorcycle, or to be used as a cargo slide, permit- ting users to slide cargo cut of a vehicle such as a pick- up truck in order to access it from outside the vehicle.
The present invention aims to provide an auxiliary device for leading, carrying and unloading e.g. a motorcycle or fonction as a cargo slide, enabling users to access goods like crates, boxes ete that are stored deep inside a vehi- clie, by sliding them straight out of the vehicle, on a frame that can support loads without tilting.
To that end the invention presents a device arranged for loading, carrying and unloading a load using a flat cargo floor of a pickup or similar vehicle, the device compris- ding: a first sliding frame, arranged to be fixed to the ve- hicle's cargo floor, extending in longitudinal direction of the vehicle; a first sliding module, arranged to be coupled with the first sliding frame such that it is able to be slid forwardly and backwardly then; a second sliding frame, 23 hingeably coupled to the first sliding module such that the first sliding module and the second sliding frame can be slid forwardly and backwardiy relative to the first sliding frame, while, when the second sliding frame is at the first sliding frame's backend, the second sliding frame is hinge- able downwardly; the first sliding module and the second gliding frame being interconnected by controllable coupling means, arranged to prevent or to control the second sliding frame to hingeably move downward, rotating around the hinge axis at the first sliding frame's backend.
Preferably, the coupling means comprise a coupling/pulling 3 line and a line winch, e.g. either energized manually or electrically.
Freferably, a second sliding module is provided, arranged to be coupled with the second sliding frame such that it is 19 able to be slid forwardly {until the second sliding frame's front end) and backwardly then, the second sliding nodule or the second sliding frame being connected or connectable to one end of the coupling/pulling line of sald coupling means, all this arranged such that the second sliding mod- 13 ule is able to be pulled by the coupling/pulling line, en- grgized by the line winch, sliding forwardly along the se- cond sliding frame and/or pulling the second sliding frame to hinge upwardly or to be kept in its upward (i.e. hori- zontal) position, preventing the second sliding frame to move around its hinge axis downwardly at the first sliding frame’s backend.
For loading, carrying and unloading a motorcycle the second sliding module either is arranged or is able to be connect- ed to means which are arranged to be coupled with a motor- cycle’s front wheel in order to pull, using the cour pling/pulling line and the line winch, the motoreycle upon the second sliding module, moving the motorcycle forwardly and upwardly and thus enabling. at the end, when the second sliding frame has come into its horizontal position and is kept in that position by the tightened line, the second sliding frame including the supported motorcycle to be slid horizontally forwardly along the first sliding frame.
For loading, carrying and unloading cargo like one or more crates, boxed etc. a slidable cargo floor may be provided, attached to the second sliding frame, Hereinafter the invention will be elucidated mors in de- tail.
Figure 1 shows an exenplary embodiment of the device according te the present invention; Figure 2 shows the enbodiment of figure 1, adapted for loading, carrying and unloading a motorcycle; 13 Pigurs 3 shows the smbodiment of figure 1, adapted for loading, carrying and unloading some crates. Figure 1 shows an examplary embodiment of the device ac- cording to the present invention, arranged for loading, carrying and unloading a load using a flat cargo floor of a pickup or similar vehicle 1. The device according to the present invention comgrises a first sliding frame 2, ar- ranged to be fixed to the vehicle's 1 carga floor, extend- ing in longitudinal direction of the vehicle, 23 A first sliding module 3 is arranged to be coupled with the first sliding frame 2 such that it is able to be slid (e.d. by hand} forwardly and backwardly then {see arrow 4).
3 A second sliding frame 5 is hingeably coupled, around a hinge axis 6, to the first sliding module 3 such that the first sliding module 3 and the second sliding frame 5 can be slid forwardly and backwardly {arrows 4) relative to the first sliding frame 2, while, when the second sliding frame is at the first sliding frame's backend Za, the second sliding frame 5 is hingeable downwardly {arrow 7a}.
5 The first sliding module 2 and the second sliding frame 5 are interconnected by controllable coupling means 8, ar- ranged to prevent or to control the second sliding frame 5 to hingeably move downwardly (7a), rotating around the hinge axis 6 at the first sliding frame's backend {where the rear part is not carried by the first sliding module 2}.
The coupling means 8 comprise a coupling/pulling line 8a {in the form of a strap here) and a line winch 8h, e.g. el- 13 ther energized manually or electrically by an electromotor gc.
In both figures 1 and 2 a second sliding module 9 is pro- vided, arranged to be coupled with the second sliding frame 5 such that it is able to be slid forwardly (until the se- cond sliding frame's front end Sa} and backwardly then. The second sliding module 9 is connected or {detachably) con- nectable to one {free} end of the coupling/pulling line Ra of said coupling means 8. All this is arranged such that 23 the second sliding module 9 is able to be pulled by the coupling/pulling line, energized by the line winch 8b, sliding forwardly along the second sliding frame 5 and - when the second sliding module 9 is blocked by the second sliding frame's front end 5a- pulling the second sliding [rame 5 to hinge upwardly {arrow 7b) or -after the second sliding module's 2 forward/upwardly sliding movement 10 has been stopped/blocked by the second sliding frame's front end 5a- to be kept (locked) in its most upwardly (i.e. hor-
izontal} position, preventing the second sliding frame 5 to {tend to) move, around its hinge axis 6, downwardly at the first sliding frame's 2 backend Za.
3 After the second sliding frame 5 thus has taken its hori- zontal position again, the second sliding frame 5 can be slid forwardly, taking with it the relevant load upon it, as will be discussed here below.
Figure & shows the embodiment of figure 1, adapted for loading, carrying and unloading a motorcycle 11, to which end the second sliding module 9 is arranged/adapted -or ar- ranged to be connected to (auxiliary) means Sa which are arranged/adapted to be coupled with the motorcycles front wheel in order to pull, using the coupling/pulling line Ba and the line winch 8b, the motorcycle 11 upon the second sliding module 5, moving the motorcycle forwardly and up- wardiy and thus enabling, at the end, when the second slid- ing frame has come into its horizontal position and is kept in that position by the tightened line, the second sliding frame including the supported motorcycle to {manually} be slid horizontally forwardly along the first sliding frame
2.
23 Figure 3 shows the embodiment of figure 1, adapted for loading, carrying and unloading cargo like crates 12, bozed etc., to which end in figure 3 a slidable cargo floor 13 is provided, attached to the second sliding frame 5, In this application of the device according the invention the free end of the line Sa may be connected to the front side (5a) of the second sliding frame 5 instead of being connected to the second sliding module 9 (blocked by the front side 5a of the second sliding frame 5}.
The present invention thus provides a device for loading, carrying and unloading e.g. a motorcycle or other cargo like crates, boxes etc, to, by, from, respectively, a flan cargo floor of a vehicle.
