A Label Printing Machine
Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to the field of label printing technique and particularly to a label printer. The invention of label printer is equipped with an automatic cutting machine through which labels can be automatically cut into ones with set length, and is thus characterized by high efficiency and precise label size.
Background of the Invention [0002] Various labels are applied to the factory, the warehouse, the market and many places. For example, price tags, product description tags, shelf tags and bar code tags of various commodities, railway tickets, bus tickets, cinema tickets, boarding checks, baggage tags and so on. With growing demand, the label printing machine has been designed in recent years for printing the labels.
[0003] A label printer of current technology consists of a paper outlet which is equipped with a blade to cut labels; an operator is specially arranged for manual label cutting when labels go through the paper outlet. Manual label cutting not only is of poor efficiency, but also likely to result in inaccurate size and high defective rate. As a result, it is very important to develop a label printer with automatic cutting function.
Summary of the Invention [0004] The purpose of the invention is to provide a label printer to solve the problem of imprecise size and poor efficiency due to manual cutting during label production with current art.
[0005] To this end, a label printer, including the printer body which contains the paper outlet, is equipped with an automatic cutting machine before the paper outlet.
[0006] Preferably, the automatic cutting machine comprises a rack equipped with a feeding mechanism, a cutting mechanism, a controlling mechanism for cutting length and a cutting drive unit controlled by the controlling mechanism; the feeding mechanism transmits labels to the cutting mechanism while the cutting drive unit is electrically connected with the controlling mechanism and the cutting mechanism so as to drive the cutting mechanism to cut.
[0007] Further preferably, the feeding mechanism is a conveyor belt which can transport labels to the cutting mechanism in a continuous and steady manner. Additionally, use of a conveyor belt contributes to good smoothness and high cutting precision.
[0008] Preferably, the cutting mechanism comprises a cutting blade and a blade-fixing plate to which the blade is fastened.
[0009] Preferably, the cutting drive unit comprises a servo motor and a drive shaft, wherein, the spindle of the servo motor is fixedly connected and coaxial with the drive shaft which is rotatablely fixed to the rack. The servo motor can give quick response after it receives control signals and thus is a proper actuating element in an automatic control system. In addition, the servo motor has advantages such as small electromechanical time constant, high linearity, etc.
[0010] Further preferably, the drive shaft is sheathed with two eccentric sleeves, the end of each of which is fixedly connected to a blade-fixing plate. In this case, the eccentric feature of the eccentric sleeves turns rotary motion of the drive shaft into reciprocating motion of the blade-fixing plate, and therefore cutting by the blade is achieved.

Without any change to the printer body, the label printer is improved with automatic cutting function, randomly set label length and higher cutting precision and requires no specially arranged operator at paper outlet for manual cutting, which saves labor cost and increases production efficiency.

The machine table includes a conveyor belt for transmitting labels 10 from one side of the rack 3 to the other side, during which labels 10 are cut by the blade 7. Moreover, the conveyor belt is electrically connected with the controlling mechanism 2 so that the latter can receive transmission speed signals of the former.
[0020] The Drive shaft 4 is fixedly connected and coaxial with the spindle of the servo motor 1. Additionally, the Drive shaft 4 is rotatablely installed to the two vertical mounting plates via a bearing. Drive shaft 4 is sheathed with two eccentric sleeves 5, the end of which is fixedly connected with blade-fixing plate 6 each; the blade 7 is fastened to the blade-fixing plate 6. Eccentric feature from the eccentric sleeves 5 turns rotary motion of drive shaft 4 into reciprocating motion of the blade-fixing plate 6, so as to achieve labels 10 on the conveyor belt cut by the blade 7.
[0021] The Controlling mechanism 2 is electrically connected with the conveyor belt to receive transmission speed signals of the latter; meanwhile, the controlling mechanism also comprises a length setting output unit to receive label length setting signals. Further, the controlling mechanism 2 is also electrically connected with the servo motor 1 to control the speed of the latter; by integrating transmission speed signals with label length setting signals, the controlling mechanism 2 sends speed signals to the servo motor 1 so that the latter can drive the cutting mechanism to cut.
