Abstract

The equipment carries correctly dosed, pre-packed medication and ensures that correct medicine in a secure and safe manner, in accordance with the correct prescription, at the right time, is administered by the correct route to the rightly intended patient. After the intended user has identified him or her self, the equipment using acoustic and light signals informs the patient that the time has come for the medicine to be taken. The basis for the signal is the comparison which the equipment makes bewteen the actual time and the administration time, as is indicated in the digitalized code on the packaging of the prepacked medicine. The other information contained in the digitalized code is compared with that connected to the user which is logged in the equipment. Particularly the digitalized information forms the control for the presentation of user information relating to the use of medicines. The equipment is provided with a shaft (1), a drive wheel (2), a gearwheel (3), a securing catch (4). A film strip, when the container is filled is placed in teh teeth of the drive wheel. The strip carries digital information. The securign catch blocks the drive wheel and prevents the strip from being removed from the container. After the equipment cover (1) is clsoed, a digital scanner reads out the digital code and the user is informed by light signals if the information is correct. The user is also informed by audible signals that the time to take the medicine has arrived.

The device Is a tool for drug users, which ensures that the right medicine is taken by the right patient, via responsible logistics, at the right time, in the right way, according to the right prescription. The device is loaded with a container with pre-packaged medicines. The container has an integrated drive wheel and a locking catch. Only after the guarantee has been broken can the device drive the pre-packaged medication out of the container and make it available to the user. The information on the medicine package is recognized by "digital scanning". The digital code includes information about the user, the medication, the method of ingestion, the date and time of ingestion. If the clock time of the device, within the margins to be set, corresponds to the time at which medication must be taken, the device emits an acoustic and / or light signal.

After the user has indicated that he wants to take medication, the device transports the packaged medication from the container via the drive wheel so that they become available for use. The device records the transport outside and the user confirms that the medication has been taken. The device is equipped with electronics to enable remote communication and logging in. The device can be set such that when the specified parameters are exceeded, communication is automatically established with the user's periphery.
