Abstract
Description
Method for manufacturing a staircase tree, method for manufacturing a staircase and staircase and staircase thus manufactured.
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a tree 5 of a staircase and to a method of manufacturing a staircase with at least one tree manufactured by the method. The invention also relates to a stair stringer and stair thus manufactured.
Building stairs for buildings, at least when it concerns stairs with no standard dimensions, has been a traditional process to date. The basic elements of a staircase are the steps, risers and the trees in which the steps are fixed by nests. The stringers in particular can take on very complex spatial forms. An example of this is a staircase with a platform in which more or less straight parts of the trees alternate with tub or curd pieces. An even greater freedom in the design of a staircase can result in an even more extensive complexity in the form of, for example, spatially twisted stair stringers. To date, parts of stair strings with a complex shape (for example the aforementioned fairing or curd pieces) have been manufactured by releasing a part of the desired shape from a solid piece of wood using results. The wood used for this purpose preferably does not contain knots or brushes and is long-winded. The techniques applied according to the prior art are: sawing, planing, stabbing, etc. The drawbacks of the existing method are that the production of more complex workpieces is only reserved for highly skilled stair builders. In addition, the existing technology is relatively expensive due to material consumption and, above all, the man-hours required.
The object of the present invention is to provide improved methods for manufacturing stringers and staircases that can also efficiently manufacture very complex spatial shapes. In addition, it is an object to provide a stringer and stair that can be manufactured in any desired shape at limited cost.
To this end, the invention provides a method for manufacturing a staircase tree, comprising the processing steps: a manufacturing a mold for the 101 34 23 -2-staircase, which mold forms a vertical projection of the staircase in use situation on a horizontal plane, b manufacturing construction parts from a substantially form-retaining sheet material, the construction parts corresponding to segments of the mold in such a way that successive construction parts form at least partially overlapping segments of the mold, and c the subsequent stacked joining of the construction parts . Producing a perpendicular projection on a horizontal bottom surface, for example with a floor plan of a building in which a staircase is to be placed, is relatively simple. Typically, with non-standard stairs, this will result in an elongated jig with at least one curve. This mold can for instance be manufactured from a sheet material, such as plywood. Depending on the height of the stairs and the thickness of the sheet material used, a large number of building parts are then manufactured from sheet material, each of which forms a segment of the mold. The IQ building parts will usually also have an elongated shape, but are shorter than the mold. The building parts are then stacked attached to each other such that a perpendicular projection of the assembly of building parts again gives the shape of the mil. The components are connected to each other when stacking. In order to achieve a smooth top and bottom edge on the assembly of stacked assembled building parts, the edges are preferably finished during an additional machining step. By manufacturing a stair stringer in the manner according to the invention, less skilled stair builders can also build very complex staircases. In particular, the labor-intensive steps of manufacturing the building parts and assembling these building parts require little specific knowledge of building stairs. Thus, the manufacture of a stair stringer with the described method becomes considerably cheaper than to date. Another great advantage is the high degree of freedom in the design of a stair stringer; all desired shapes can be manufactured. Another advantage is that the desired shape can also be accurately introduced into the stringer; the shape is manageable. Finally, the method makes it possible to manufacture the stair stringer from sheet material (eg plywood or MDF), which yields considerable savings compared to the use of good quality solid wood from which the stair stringer, usually in parts, is cleared.
1013423 -3-1013423 -3-
During step b, so many building parts are manufactured that the corresponding overlapping segments of the mold comprise the entire mold. The stacking of building parts is only possible if successive building parts overlap each other over a considerable length. The building parts 5 can only be firmly connected to each other when this condition is met. In addition, because of the required height of the stair stringer, it is usually also necessary to stack the construction parts in several layers. For example, for the manufacture of the building parts, sheet material with an arbitrary thickness is used which is stacked up to tens of layers thick. It should be noted here that for a correct stacking of the building parts at certain positions relative to the mold, markings can be applied on at least one non-binding side of the building parts such that the markings of the successive building parts match one another. The stacking of the building parts can thus be carried out accurately in a simple manner.
In a preferred application of the method, the mold is placed horizontally before step c and subsequently vertical guiding members are placed for vertically stacking the building parts. Even more preferably, the mold is manufactured twice and the vertical guide members connect to the mold on a bottom side and a top side. The vertical guide elements can for instance consist of slats, beams, tubes, cables, etc. The advantage of the vertical guide elements is that the mold takes on a more or less three-dimensional shape, which simplifies the pure vertical stacking of the construction parts. When the vertical guide elements have sufficient rigidity, they can also be used to support the (partly) built-up assembly of building parts. This can be done, for example, by means of clamps with which the assembly is coupled to the vertical guide elements.
These can be glued together for a sufficiently strong mutual connection of the building parts. This is a simple technique for coupling the building parts, but other techniques are also conceivable, such as, for example, nailing, screwing, pin connection and form-fitting coupling. Combinations of connection techniques are also conceivable.

The stair stringer can be clad on one or more sides for an aesthetic finish. Examples of covering materials are wood veneer, plastic veneer, lacquer, etc. It is noted that in practice the top edge of the stringer 5 can be advantageously covered with several layers of vertically placed wood veneer. The suggestion can thus be made that it concerns a stair stringer made of solid wood.
The invention moreover provides a method for manufacturing a staircase by assembling steps with at least one tree manufactured by the method as described above. These steps can be advantageously manufactured in connection with the mold. Such a staircase can be manufactured in a relatively advantageous manner and has a very high degree of freedom of form; in principle, any stair shape is relatively easy to realize.
The invention moreover provides a tree of a staircase made of a number of stacked assembled building parts, which building parts consist of at least substantially form-retaining parts of sheet material. Preferably, at least one side of the assembly of building parts is coated with a covering layer. A stair provided with at least one such stair stringer is also provided by the invention. The advantages of the stringer and stair according to the invention have already been described above with reference to the present method.
The invention will be further elucidated on the basis of the non-limitative exemplary embodiments shown in the following figures. Herein shows: fig. 1: a perspective view of a block of wood for manufacturing a tub or curd piece according to the prior art, fig. 2: a perspective view of a mold manufactured according to step a of the method according to the invention fig. 3: a perspective view of the stacked assembly of building parts 30 according to step c of the method according to the invention, and fig. 4: a perspective view of a staircase according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows a block of wood 1 with a chamfered side 2 on which auxiliary lines 3 are provided which originate from a rash for manufacturing a tub or curd piece. Such a tub or curb piece can be used where two straight stringers, for example at the level of a platform, come together. According to the prior art, the tub or curd piece must be released from the log 1 with conventional woodworking techniques. Manufacturing more complex spatial forms of (parts of) stair stringers in this way is very complex and labor-intensive. In addition, it is virtually impossible to obtain the desired spatial shape very accurately.

Figure 2 shows a jig 4 which forms a perpendicular projection of a stair stringer in use condition on a horizontal plane. The mold 4 usually has an elongated and curved shape. The mold 4 can be made of any shape-retaining material. As also shown in the figure, the mold 4 can be built up from separate mold parts 15, 5,6 which are rigidly connected to each other.
Perpendicularly above the mold 4, a second mold 8 is placed with an identical geometry to the mold 4. The two molds 4,8 are assembled by beams 9 which function as guide elements and support elements 20 . Above mold 4, building parts 10 are subsequently stacked at least partially overlapping. These building parts 10 are made of sheet material such that their shape corresponds to a part of the mold 4. The successive building parts 10 are glued together. This results in an assembly 11 of building parts 10 which has a rough shape corresponding to the desired shape of the stair stringer. In order to keep the assembly 11 of building parts 10 in position, this is fixed in the figure to the beams 9 by means of clamps 12.
After the assembly 11 of building parts 10 has the desired height and has hardened, the top and bottom edges can be brought into a smooth shape by sawing, planing, etc. Depending on the customer's wishes, the assembly thus processed can be further finished with a single or multi-sided coating.
101 3423 -6-101 3423 -6-
Figure 4 finally shows a staircase 13 according to the invention with two stair stringers 14,15, both of which have a complex spatial shape, which, however, can be produced in a very controlled manner. In the manufacture of the stair treads 16, use is also made in an advantageous manner of the molds 4,8 for the manufacture of the stringers 14,15 in that they have to fit in this in terms of fit.
Although the invention has been described on the basis of only a few exemplary embodiments, it will be apparent to everyone that the invention is in no way limited to the exemplary embodiments described and shown. On the contrary, many variations are still possible for a skilled person within the scope of the invention.
