Abstract
The vessel comprises two parallel walls joined by coupling plates. It is completely filled with a medium under pressure sufficiently high to distort it outwards to form cylinder sections. This pressure is several times higher than that normally occurring in use, so that any distortion taking place under the latter is merely elastic. The coupling plates (72) contain holes, and their mechanical strength is such that they distort elastically under pressure higher than the shaping pressure. The components of the vessel can be joined together by resistance-welding or soldering. Where the plates join top and bottom walls, the holes in them can be to a pattern causing their mechanical strength to be less than that of the walls.
