Abstract

An imaging device incorporating an effervescence generator (1) includes a light source (9), a screening plate (10), an image carrier (3) comprising a transparent chiba chromium slide, and a cover plate (2). The effervescence generator (1) comprises a submersible pump (6) having a venturi (11) providing a gas/liq. mix to a channel (21), which discharges at (5) into a first return channel (8) disposed at low level for the liq., and a second return channel (7) disposed at high level for the gas. A plate (15) disposed horizontally at the bottom of the liq.-contg. unit directs bubbles upwardly in a linear movement. A mirror (20) may be incorporated to double the observed quantity of bubbles. The liq. is purified water contg. a glycol based surface tension-reducing agent. The light source (9) and the effervescence generator (1) are mounted on one side of the image carrier (3), with a screening plate (10) of milk white perspex (RTM) interposed to project a combined image through the cover plate (2).
