Abstract

The mounting arrangement consists of a base plate (3) on which the bottom part (6) of set of clamp plates (6,7) is mounted. A metal sphere (9), which is mounted on the end of a stud (10) is screwed into the end of the stem of a tree or into the end of a pole. The clamp plates (6,7) have part spherical recesses which match the shape of the sphere (9). The two clamp plates are pulled together with screws and wing nuts to clamp the sphere between the plates. The sphere allows the stem two degrees of freedom before it is clamped. Apart from clamp plates alternative methods of clamping the sphere can be used.
