Abstract

A pallet comprising an upper cover plate (1), a lower cover plate (2) and columns (3) between the upper cover plate and the lower cover plate is described. According to the invention the upper cover plate (1) and the lower cover plate (2) are made of paper material and the columns (3) are made of material which can be rammed in the longitudinal direction of the columns and is formed by rolled up corrugated board, the ends of the columns (3) being arranged in holes in the upper cover plate (1) and the lower cover plate (2). Preferably the upper cover plate (1) and the lower cover plate (2) are made of honeycomb plates.

Description

Pallet.

The invention relates to a pallet, comprising an upper deck, a lower deck and legs between the upper deck and the lower deck.

Such a pallet is currently widely used for the storage and transport of all kinds of goods.

These pallets are usually made of wood, but nowadays for a number of applications also of paper material, such as a solid cardboard top and bottom deck and legs made of solid cardboard tubes. These cardboard pallets are easy to recycle and light, while wooden pallets are heavy, splintering and difficult to recycle. In a particular application, however, the pallet is very heavily loaded because the pallet is loaded with, for instance, solid cardboard plates, between which air is squeezed out using a machine. The forces on a pallet leg can be about 1500 kg because the load is not always evenly distributed. A cardboard pallet with solid cardboard legs 20 then causes failure of the product stacked on it, because a leg through the top plate causes an indentation in the bottom products. Until now, wooden pallets are still used for this application.

The object of the invention is to eliminate the drawbacks of the known pallets.

This object is achieved in that according to the invention the upper deck and the lower deck are manufactured from honeycomb plates of paper material with a honeycomb core and an outer deck plate and inner deck plate and that the 5 legs are made of wound corrugated cardboard which can be swung in longitudinal direction of the legs.

Corrugated cardboard is collapsible in the direction of its plane, in particular at the edge of a plate, and it is also sufficiently rigid and strong in the wound state to absorb the required load.

A pallet leg, which is subjected to a very high load, will collapse, so that the load is distributed over all legs. This distributed load causes little or no impression of the products stacked on the pallet. The honeycomb plate-shaped top and bottom decks hereby provide a bend-resistant bearing surface with a low weight. The pallet is therefore suitable for the intended application, and also lighter and much more recyclable than a wooden pallet.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the top deck and the bottom deck are made of cardboard.

Preferably, the ends of the legs are arranged in holes in the top deck and the bottom deck to prevent the honeycomb material from compressing at the legs.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the holes in the top deck and bottom deck are continuous and the legs with their end faces lie flush with the outside of the outer deck plates, so that the top and bottom deck are easy to manufacture.

Preferably, the holes in the top deck and bottom deck run through the inner deck plates and core to the outer deck plates, and the legs with their end faces rest against the inside of the outer deck plates, so that the 35 legs cannot extend beyond the top and bottom deck and the legs can be easily secured in the top and bottom deck.

Preferably, each leg is provided at each end with a mounting step with a smaller diameter than the rest of the leg and with a diameter and length corresponding to the holes in the top and bottom deck, so that the mounting steps are completely in the top and bottom bottom deck, and the shoulder surfaces formed at the transitions between the studs and the rest of the leg provide additional mounting and support surfaces of the leg against the inner deck plate of the top and bottom decks.

Preferably, the legs are glued into the holes in the top and bottom decks, so that they do not fall apart when maneuvering with a pallet.

The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing with an exemplary embodiment.

Figure 1 is a top view of the pallet according to the invention, Figure 2 is a section along the line II-II in Figure 1, Figure 3 is a section along the line III-20 III in Figure 1 and Figure 4 is a perspective view of a leg of the pallet.

According to a preferred embodiment the pallet according to the invention consists of an upper deck 1, a lower deck 2 and legs 3, of which, for example, nine are arranged. The upper deck 1 and the lower deck 2 are both made of honeycomb plate, which consists of a core 4 and 5 of strips of thin cardboard, respectively, which are formed and fastened together, for example to form 30 hexagonal "honeycombs", and of two cover plates 6 and 7 which are glued to the core 4 and 5 on both flat sides. The cover plates 6 and 7 preferably consist of solid cardboard.

Holes 8 35 are provided in the upper deck 1 and the lower deck 2 for receiving mounting steps 10 and 11 on the legs 3. These holes 8, in this case nine pieces, are preferably arranged in the inner deck plate 7 of 1001 1 1 7 4 the upper deck 1 and in the core 4, respectively in the inner deck plate 7 and in the core 5 of the lower deck 2, or entirely through the upper deck 1 and the lower deck 2. The length of the mounting steps 10 and 11 of the legs 3 5 is adapted to the depth of the holes 8. The diameter of the mounting steps 10 and 11 is equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter of the holes 8. The studs 10 and 11 are glued into the holes 8, the shoulder surfaces 14 and 15 being glued to the inner surfaces of upper deck 1 and lower deck 2 and, in the preferred embodiment, the end surfaces 12 and 13 of the legs 3 to the inner surfaces of the outer cover plates 6 and 7 of top deck 1 and bottom deck 2 are glued.

The legs 3 are preferably made of coiled corrugated cardboard of the one-sided type, and have a thickness such that they can take up the required load.

Finally, approximately rectangular, through holes 9 are provided in the bottom deck 2, which serve to move the pallet by means of a hand pallet truck over, for example, a floor.

Pallet, comprising an upper deck, a lower deck and legs between the upper deck and the lower deck, characterized in that the upper deck (1) and the lower deck (2) are made of honeycomb sheets of paper material with a honeycomb core (4, 5) and an outer deck plate (6) and an inner deck plate (7), and that the legs (3) are made of wound corrugated cardboard which can be swung in longitudinal direction of the legs. Pallet according to claim 1, characterized in that the top deck (1) and the bottom deck (2) are made of cardboard. Pallet according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ends of the legs (3) are arranged in holes in the top deck (1) and the bottom deck (2). Pallet according to claim 3, characterized in that the holes in the top deck (1) and bottom deck (2) are continuous and that the legs (3) are flush with the outer surfaces of their end faces (12, 13}). the outer deck plates (6).
