Abstract

The pouch is closed on three sides, having a top flap joined to the rear wall. A pair of sidewalls and a bottom are included, and the laminate consists of an intermediate layer between two plastic ones. At the weld seam, the intermediate layer is present only in the front and rear walls (3, 2). The plastic sheet can be between 15 and 125 microns thick, and when filled with tobacco the pouch mouth can be fully sealed by a weld seam. Recesses can be formed in the sides where the weld seam is to be formed.
