Abstract

The method involves running a series of wagons (1) on rollers (11,12) around a loop. They are chain driven on the teeth (50) and joined by couplings (15,16). Four trays (4-7) have raised sides adjacent to the frame (8). Together they form one flat surface, supported fore and aft by pintles (9,10). Spring-loaded bolts (20,21) hold the front trays (6,7), which support the edges of the rear trays (4,5). Tripping one bolt allows half of the combined tray to open. Tripping both allows one large load to be deposited. Stroke arms (40,41) return the trays to the carrying position, where bolts automatically re-engage.
