Abstract

The present invention relates to a new formulation and application of insecticide that is effective in controlling agricultural chewing insect pests including, Spodoptera /itura, Hellula undalis, Piute/la xylostella and Crocidolomia binotalis. The new formulation particularly relates to an insecticidal composition that contains lemon myrtle plant extract comprising ( epoxy-linalooloxide, isopropyl 4-methyl-3-methylene-4-pentenoate, nerolic acid, and citral), oil (or Edenor), polysorbate surfactant (or Tween 80), and hydrophilic solvent such that the insecticidal formulation composition is an effective antifeedant and larvicide but is non-toxic to humans, animals and the environment.
