Abstract
A method and device are proposed for extracting molybdenum from low-grade crude ore by means of low-temperature chlorination, in which finely dispersed molybdenum-containing ore materials are chlorinated at 220-250?? by chlorine gas, forming a volatile chloride compound which, after exiting the reactor, is directed to a low-temperature nitrogen-oxygen plasma unit having a temperature of 800-1000??, where the said compound decomposes, releasing a high-purity powder or nanopowder of MoO3, which is cooled by an air stream and collected in a discharge hopper. The invention makes it possible to obtain ultrapure 99.997-99.999% MoO3 using an environmentally friendly, effective, and inexpensive method that can be implemented on an industrial scale. (Figure 1)
