Abstract

A method of integrated multi-trophic aquaculture comprises growing shrimps in a shrimp culture tank; passing the water from the shrimp culture tank periodically to a sedimentation tank and retaining the water to gravitate and remove precipitated suspended particles; transferring the water from the sedimentation tank which contains phytoplankton and suspended particulate organic matter periodically to a bivalve culture tank wherein the bivalves are fed with phytoplankton and suspended particulate organic matter in the water; circulating the water in the bivalve culture tank using a spraying module; passing the water from the bivalve culture tank containing inorganic matters excreted by the bivalves and shrimps to a seaweed culture tank to reduce inorganic matter in the water through the growth of seaweed; and transferring the water from the seaweed culture tank to a collection tank and passing the collected water back to the shrimp culture tank.
