Abstract

A diagnosis device and a diagnosis method for identifying a malfunction factor of a predetermined system mounted in a vehicle. Diagnosis device (100) includes: determining section (101) configured to detect to which malfunction level of a plurality of malfunction levels detected flow rates obtained at predetermined time intervals each belong, and compute the number of times of detection for each of the plurality of malfunction levels; and malfunction-factor identifying section (102) configured to identify a malfunction factor of the system based on the computed number of times of detection for each of the plurality of malfunction levels and based on identification data in which a malfunction factor of the system is defined with respect to the number of times of detection for each of the plurality of malfunction levels.
