Abstract

A system (100) and method for microencapsulation of cells comprises a syringe (110), filled with a biomaterial, to dispense the biomaterial; a syringe pump (120), holds the syringe (110), to dispense controlled amount of the biomaterial at a defined flow rate; a flicking motor (130), connected to the needle of the syringe (110), to force at least one droplet of the biomaterial from the needle to drop into the petri dish (160), by flicking the needle at a defined velocity, the droplet down in the gelation bath solution encapsulates the cancer cells produces microcapsules; a vibrator (140) attached on body of the petri dish (160), prevents stacking of the microcapsules in the gelation bath solution, by vibrating the petri dish (160) at a defined vibratory speed; and a display (150), displays the infusion rate of the syringe pump (120) and the flicking speed of the flicking motor (130). (Figure 1)
