Abstract
A method for integrating vital signs monitoring with vehicle control is revealed. The method is applied for developing the control logic for a vehicle control unit (VCU). When a driver encounters the dangerous situation of abnormal vital signs such as highly stimulated emotions or unconsciousness, the VCU will intervene vehicle control and monitor the vital-sign signals including electrocardiogram, blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen saturation, body temperature, and respiration waves. Then the corresponding warnings will be submitted according to the threshold values of the various vital-sign signals.
