Abstract

A damper includes a cylinder (21), a piston (22), a piston rod (23) inserted through the cylinder (21), and a coil spring (24) configured to bias the piston rod in a direction in which the piston rod (23) extends, the coil spring (24) has a densely coiled section (24a) and a coarsely coiled section (24b), which are formed by wires (24w), the densely coiled section (24a) and the coarsely coiled section (24b) are formed such that a clearance Pt of the wire (24w) in the densely coiled section (24a) is relatively narrower than a clearance Pt of the wire (24w) in the coarsely coiled section (24b), an elastic member (25) configured to cover the densely coiled section (24a) is installed at least at an outer circumference of at least the densely coiled section (24a), and at least a portion of the coarsely coiled section (24b) is exposed to the outside from the elastic member (25).
