Abstract

An electric motor includes stator core (3) provided with slot (23) having a winding wound, and a rotor mounted to be rotatable and disposed opposite a side face of stator core (3). Stator core (3) includes two insulators (4a, 4b) attached to the stator core (3) with the stator core (3) sandwiched from top and bottom in an axial direction of a rotary shaft of the electric motor. Each of insulators (4a, 4b) has a base section formed of a surface orthogonal to the rotary shaft, substantially cylindrical wall section (32) extending in the axial direction from the base section so as to cover a wall surface of slot (23), and a protrusion protruding in the axial direction on a portion of an end of wall section (32) in the axial direction.
