Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a steel sheet and a coated steel sheet of which press-formability is significantly improved as compared with the conventional steel sheet or coated steel sheet. Specifically, the present invention provides a steel sheet having excellent formability, comprising in mass%: C: 0.005% or less; Si: 0.2% or less; Mn: 0.5% or less; P: 0.04% or less; S: 0.03% or less; N: 0.01% or less; Al: 0.1% or less; at least one type of element selected from the group consisting of Ti: 0.01 to 0.1% and Nb: 0.001 to 0.1%; and the balance as Fe and incidental impurities, wherein Nb and/or Ti carbides of which grain diameter is not larger than 6 nm are dispersed at a volume ratio in the range of 1 x 10-5 to 5 x 10-4 in the steel.
