Abstract
The present invention provides an improved method of increasing oil recovery and reducing the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) of palm oil mill effluent (POME). This is accomplished by treating the palm oil slurry with cement kiln dust in an anaerobic condition prior to disposal of the effluent.
