Abstract

A computer implemented method of validating measured full scale metocean data with hindcast data of a specific region is provided. The method includes acquisition of a plurality of statistical parameters of both measured and hindcast data for a plurality of environmental loads; deriving probability density function of statistical parameters for the measured and hindcast data; performing time domain analysis on the statistical parameters for the measured and hindcast data; plotting time history plots for measured and hindcast data to observe variation in behaviour of measured and hindcast data over a period of time; deriving correlation of the measured and hindcast data based on the analyses of the statistical parameters; and performing correlation analyses for the environmental loads to ascertain the correlation of measured and hindcast data.
