Abstract

To obtain a steel sheet pile which has an improved straight advancing property during driving, which can be prevented from, for example, being warped or falling during the driving, and which can be installed with a longer driving length than that of a related-art construction method without adversely affecting a surrounding ground. In a U-shaped steel sheet pile (1) or a hat-shaped steel sheet pile (5) according to the present invention, friction reducing treatment is applied at least on an inner peripheral surface side of a steel sheet pile surface by a length equal to or more than a steel sheet pile sectional width B and equal to or less than 20% of a steel sheet pile length L from a position of the steel sheet pile that is a lower end of the steel sheet pile when the steel sheet pile is driven into a ground.
