Abstract

A mixing apparatus (10) for use in a reactor (60) configured to contain a mixture, the mixing apparatus (10) comprising: a vertically oriented shaft (20) configured to be placed in the reactor (60); a cone-shaped mixer (40) configured to be connected to a bottom end (22) of the shaft (20) within the reactor (60); and a rotary-to-linear motion converter mechanism (30) configured to be connected to an upper part (21) of the shaft (20) and to create reciprocating vertical movement of the shaft (20) and the cone-shaped mixer (40) in the mixture.
