A method for preparing natural medicament for treating leukaemia from plant parts of Chromolaena odorata comprising the steps of steaming said plant parts, collecting vapour derived from said plant parts, cooling said vapour to form liquid form, and separating the essential oil from the water extract respectively. The above mentioned method further comprises the steps of extracting the active compounds from the essential oil; and preparing a medicament from said active compounds respectively or mixture of said active compounds. A natural medicament produced from the above method for treating leukaemia and anti-oxidant.
