A method for palm kernel oil extraction using a single stage pressing system (100) includes the steps of pretreating the palm kernels and performing pressing and extraction of palm kernel oil from the palm kernels using a single stage pressing machine. The pretreating stage includes the steps of performing cleaning and separation of the palm kernels to remove foreign matters and broken shells and palm kernels, removing the broken palm kernels and shells, mixing selected palm kernels with the broken palm kernels and crushing using hammermill. Then the palm kernels are pressed using a single stage pressing machine for extracting palm kernel oil. Using the present method the single stage pressing machine is capable of extracting at least 90% of palm kernel oil from the palm kernels.
