Abstract

Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei 7BL, a highly optically pure L-lactic acid-producing strain with tolerance to a lignocellulosic hydrolysate, is provided. The strain, is isolated from putrid fruit with high lactic acid production efficiency and which could tolerates main inhibitors, such as furfural, 5-HMF and acetic acid, in the lignocellulosic hydrolysate prepared by performing diluted acid catalytic and steam explosion pretreatment on a lignocellulose. D-lactic acid dehydrogenase (d-ldh) gene of the strain is interrupt by genetic engineering such that L-lactic acid with 100% optical purity can be produced, thereby obtaining Lactobacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei 7BL, a highly optically pure L-lactic acid-producing strain with tolerance to the lignocellulosic hydrolysate.
