Abstract
A device and a method for receiving a quote alert of stock quoting software (20) in a mobile device (10) are provided. A resident program (34) in a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) communication protocol connection manner receives quote alert information (14). At first, a user customizes a quote alert setting of a financial commodity. When the price of the financial commodity reaches a price set by the user, the server (12) generates quote alert information (14). The resident program (34) then regularly checks and downloads the quote alert information (14). Even though the stock quoting software is closed, the quote alert information (14) can be received continuously and the power consumption of the resident program (34) is very low. When the quote alert information (14) is received, the user clicks the quote alert information (14) to call the stock quoting software directly, to view detailed quote information (14).
