Abstract
A method for effecting a repair and/or strengthening of a pipe 10. The method comprises cleaning an affected area of a surface of the pipe 10 to provide a cleaned surface of the pipe surface for an area requiring repair; applying a continuous strip 50 around the pipe 10 from a portion prior to the affected area and allowing the continuous strip 50 to extend to a portion after the affected area. The continuous strip 50 forms a spiral sleeve 52 spaced from the pipe surface to provide an annular chamber 80 between the pipe surface and the spiral sleeve 52.
