Abstract

According to one embodiment, an elevator (1) includes a modesty panel (22), a camera (4), and a bracket (61). The modesty panel (22) is provided at an upper portion of a door apparatus (21) of a car (2) and includes an outer wall (221) facing a hall (3), a bottom wall (223) and a window portion (224) configured to form an opening extended over two planes one of which extends along the outer wall (221) and another of which extends along the bottom wall (223). The camera (4) is installed above the window portion (224) and has an angle (V) of view to shoot a range from an inside of the car (2) to the hall (3), while the door apparatus (21) is opened. The bracket (61) fixes the camera (4) such that a center line (A) of the angle (V) of view is inclined toward the hall (3).
