Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus (1) for measuring and dispensing liquid from a container (2), characterized by: a canister (10) including a retaining chamber (11) and a partition (12) having a gap (13), connected to an opening (3) of the container (2); a valve controller (20) comprising a closure plate (21 ), having an orifice (23), a knob (22), and a rotary valve (24) having a plurality of ports (25); wherein passage of liquid between the container (2) and the retaining chamber ( 11) is allowed when the plurality of ports (25) is aligned with the gap (13), and blocked when the plurality of ports (25) is displaced from alignment with gap (13); wherein the plurality of ports (25) has a size which allows a predetermined volume of liquid to be retained in the retaining chamber (11) when said canister (10) is in an upright position; a lid (30) having a spout (31), wherein aligning the orifice (23) with the spout (31) allows the liquid retained in the retaining chamber (11) to be dispensed.
