Abstract

Provided is a method for producing a polycondensation polymer which can maintain the high quality of the polycondensation polymer. The method for producing a polycondensation polymer has a step of supplying a molten prepolymer to a polymerization reactor (100, 200) for producing a polycondensation polymer, the reactor having a casing (13), a guide (4) provided in the casing, and a polymer discharge port (7) connected to the casing and provided in a lower portion thereof, and a step of allowing the molten prepolymer to flow down along a surface of the guide while being in contact with the surface and polymerizing the molten prepolymer, thereby producing the polycondensation polymer, in which control is made such that the projected area of a portion in the tapered lower portion of the casing where the polycondensation polymer flows down is large or such that the liquid surface of a retentate in the tapered lower portion of the casing contains a large area of a portion where the polycondensation polymer flows down.
