Abstract

The present invention relates to an antifungal composition derived from Clitoria ternatea flavonoid. More particularly, the present invention relates to a flavonoid composition for use as an antifungal agent, characterized in that, the composition comprising kaempferol-3-O-? rhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)-?glucopyranoside, method of manufacturing and method of use thereof. The present invention provides a novel approach for development of a flavonoid composition comprising kaempferol-3-O-?-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)-?-glucopyranoside that can be combined with other drugs to form a synergistic drug combination that is capable of inhibiting fungal growth at low concentration effectively.
