Abstract

A sliding guide rail system for slidably opening and closing a drawer within an enclosure. The system comprises a mounting bracket (10) for fixing the drawer to the enclosure, the mounting bracket having a fixed rail (20) for receiving an intermediate rail (30), an outer pull out rail (40) and a device for synchronizing the sliding motion of the intermediate rail and the outer pull out rail. The intermediate rail is slidable relative to the fixed rail on a first pair of roller carriages (50). The outer pull out rail is slidable on the intermediate rail relative to the intermediate rail and the fixed rail, on a second pair of roller carriages (60). Each carriage in each pair is connected by way of a gear rack (54, 62). A pair of support rollers (80) is provided on the intermediate rail for guiding and stabilizing the sliding motion of the outer pull out rail. The synchronizing device comprises a pinion gear (70) that operatively engages with the gear racks of both pairs of roller carriages simultaneously.
