Abstract
An adaptive adjustment method for dispersion compensation relates to the field of optical communications. The adaptive adjustment method is based on an adaptive dispersion compensation system, which comprises a tunable dispersion compensator and an OTU receiving unit. The OTU receiving unit further comprises a delay line interferometer. The method comprises the following steps: S1. regulating the delay line interferometer to maximize output optical power of a constructive interference port; S2. adjusting dispersion coarsely, determining whether a framing unit detects a frame header, and if yes, entering S3, or if not, returning to S1; and S3. adjusting dispersion finely, determining whether an optimal dispersion point minimizing a pre-forward error correction bit error ratio is found, and if yes, ending adjustment, or if not, entering S2. The present invention lowers a requirement on a device, effectively reduces a time for regulating dispersion compensation, and improves efficiency of dispersion regulation
