A container-packed coffee beverage with a reduction in the savor and smell that are specific to Coffee Robusta is provided. It was found that adding particulates of roasted coffee beans pulverized to a specific particle size (insoluble coffee powder) and an extract of roasted coffee beans so that the coffee-specific diterpene compounds (cafestol and kahweol) are contained in the formula of the container-packed beverage at a concentration in a specific range, then subjecting the formula to heat sterilization produces a container-packed coffee beverage with a reduction in the savor and smell that are specific to Coffee Robusta.
