Abstract
Provided are an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer resin used for a sheet of a solar cell encapsulant, which has reduced neck-in during sheet fabrication and a low shrinkage rate during thermal adhesion of a module manufacturing process, and a method for manufacturing the EVA copolymer resin. The EVA copolymer resin includes 25 to 33 wt% of a vinyl acetate monomer, and has a Z-average molecular weight (Mz) of 220,000 g/mole or less, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range of 3.5 to 4.5, a melt flow index (MI) in the range of 6 to 35 g/10 min, measured at 190? under a load of 2.16 kg, and a Tan ?, as measured using a rheometer at 100?, satisfying the following formula: 1.85*Ln(MI)/(0.72*In(frequency)+3.12)<Tan?<2.33*Ln(MI)/(0.72*In(frequency)+ 2.81).
