The present invention relates to an improved composition having different polarities and phases and a well dispersed nanoparticles in a single matrix polymer for use in or as a biodegradable packaging film. The composition preferably comprises a biopolymer of k-carrageenan; a nanofiller comprises a component selected from a group comprising cellulose nanofiller, montmorillonite clay nanofiller and a combination thereof, wherein the cellulose nanofiller is cellulose nanocrystal extracted from natural cellulose including kenaf, wherein the montmorillonite clay nanofiller is organically modified montmorillonite clay nanofiller; a plasticizer wherein the plasticizer is glycerol; and a dispersion medium.
