Abstract
A system for peeling skin of onions comprising: a sorting means having a stack of sieves (2) of descending sizes for grading the onions by size; a suction means (7) for holding the sorted onions while they are passed to a cutting means to remove its root portion; and a rolling means in conjunction with a blower for breaking the skin of the onions upon removing its root portion and detaching the skin of the onions.
