Abstract

The objective of the present invention is to provide a solution to the dangers that motorists are exposed to under low visibility conditions. It provides a method and an apparatus arrangement to warn motorists of the dangers of oncoming vehicles. The present invention also warns motorists of the threat of oncoming vehicles that are approaching them head-on due to the oncoming vehicle being in the wrong lane. A method and apparatus for vehicle collision avoidance comprising an area divided into a plurality of zones (201, 202) determining the distance to place the visual alert indicator (103) and at least a motion detector (100), the visual alert indicator (103) to provide visual information to at least a motorist, the at least a motion detector (100) having an arrangement to detect lane crossover, a plurality of motion detectors (100) identifying a safe speed combination and potential risk speed combination.
