Abstract

An internal combustion engine has an intake valve located above the cylinder axis line. Oil is supplied to the intake valve smoothly even without forming an opening of an oil supply passage at a position directly above the intake valve. An opening (64) connected to a passage (63) of the oil supply passage (50) is formed at a position located within the inner surface of a head cover (16) and higher than the intake valve (41), the position being off a position directly above the intake valve (41). A first rib (81) is provided on the inner surface of the head cover (16). One end of the first rib (81) is located at a side of the opening (64), and the other end thereof is located directly above the intake valve (41). (Fig. 7)
