Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for providing a stereoscopic menu (1) to a 3D display, and more specifically to a method for controlling the appearance of the stereoscopic menu (1). The invention further relates to an apparatus (4) for playback of video data and data structure making use of such method. According to the invention, a method for controlling the appearance of a stereoscopic menu (1) during playback of video data, the stereoscopic menu (1) comprising one or more graphical elements (11,12,13) each graphical element (11,12,13) being arranged at a certain depth (Znominal), has the steps of:-receiving a user input (20) to reduce or increase a depth of the stereoscopic menu (1); and changing (31,41) the depth (Znominal) of each graphical element (11,12,13) in accordance with the user input (20).
