Abstract

DISCLOSED HEREIN IS A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE OF A LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG) PRODUCED FROM A CHILLER IN A LIQUEFACTION PROCESS, THE METHOD COMPRISING THE STEP OF VARYING THE COMPOSITION OF A REFRIGERANT STREAM IN THERMAL COMMUNICATION WITH NATURAL GAS UNDERGOING LIQUEFACTION IN SAID CHILLER TO THEREBY CONTROL THE TEMPERATURE OF THE LNG PRODUCED FROM THE CHILLER,WHEREIN THE REFRIGERANT STREAM COMPRISES A MIXTURE OF N2, C1, C2 AND C3 COMPONENTS; AND WHEREIN SAID VARYING STEP COMPRISES INDEPENDENTLY ADJUSTING A MOLAR COMPOSITION OF ONE OR MORE OF SAID REFRIGERANT COMPONENTS IN RESPONSE TO A RESPECTIVE SET OF PROCESS VARIABLES, EACH RESPECTIVE SET OF PROCESS VARIABLES COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE UNIQUE TEMPERATURE VARIABLE.
