Abstract
AN ARCING CHAMBER WITH HIGH CURRENT-CARRYING CAPABILITY FOR A HIGH-VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR. AN OUTERMOST LAYER OF THE ARCING CHAMBER IS AN INSULATING SUPPORT MEMBER (4) WITH METAL INSERTS (4A, 4B) AT TWO ENDS, AND COMPRISES THE METAL INSERTS AT THE TWO ENDS THEREOF. MOVING AND FIXED CONTACT SYSTEMS OF THE ARCING CHAMBER ARE ARRANGED INSIDE THE INSULATING SUPPORT MEMBER, AND ARE COAXIAL WITH THE INSULATING SUPPORT MEMBER. THE METAL INSERT (4B) AT THE FIXED END OF THE INSULATING SUPPORT MEMBER IS CONNECTED WITH THE FIXED CONTACT SYSTEM OF THE ARCING CHAMBER, AND THE METAL INSERT OF MOVING SIDE (4A) IS CONNECTED WITH THE MOVING CONTACT SYSTEM OF THE ARCING CHAMBER. THE ARCING CHAMBER ADOPTS THE METAL INSERTS GUIDING A CURRENT OF A MAIN LOOP TO THE INSULTING SUPPORT MEMBER AND A METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES OF CONDUCTIVE PARTS IN THE MAIN LOOP, SO AS TO INCREASE THE CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF DIVERSION, REDUCE THE LOOP RESISTANCE, IMPROVE THE HEAT DISSIPATION CONDITION AND REINFORCE THE OVERALL THROUGH-FLOW CAPABILITY OF THE ARCING CHAMBER.
